I'm getting sick of these bribes to swap bank accounts. Just give us a decent savings rate on an actual savings account, not up to 2500 in a current account.

If a bank actually went back to basics they would have my business, yes I know the base rate is low so it's hard to pay out interest like they used to but surely this whole switching service intention was to increase competition but it's not working as intended imo, Current Accounts could be easily at 3% AER again up to 20k just like Santander used to do when the base rate was lower, and increased competition should be driving that sort of customer benefit not quick payouts to the customer to hold onto business for 18 months.

Has no one realised that it would mean your bank account is then with Natwest?

Jeez, they'd need to pay me thousands for that sort of step back.
The 150 is paid by Feb 2020....

Can I go from RBS to Natwest?

So if you previously took a switch incentive for RBS between October 2017 and July 2019 then you wont be able to get this offer.

Terms for reference

"You won’t be eligible for this offer if you’ve already taken advantage of a cash offer from NatWest, The Royal Bank of Scotland plc (‘RBS’) and/or Ulster Bank Limited (‘Ulster’) between October 2017 and July 2019 for:

(i) opening a new current account and switching to NatWest/RBS/Ulster or
(ii) upgrading your existing NatWest/RBS current account
I’ve just switched to RBS (hasn’t completed yet). Could I switch another account to Natwest? It’s probably a gamble whether both will payout

as long as different accounts cant see there being a problem
I currently have a standard Platinum account and pay a monthly fee for phone insurance etc (which I just used actually, and was a great service).
Would I be eligible to switch to the rewards account for an extra £2 a month and get the £150 ?

So I could leave after a month? The Silver Reward deal says I have to pay 1500 in every month. One off easy but every month could be a problem. The others you have to pay a tenner or £20 a month. So if it's just a month then cool, if not nah.

Did you mean RBS aren't offering this to existing customer??? Only this offer states it is.
Can i get this offer if im switching from halifax
So if I switch a Lloyd's classic account to natwest, pay in 1500£ and log in to the app by Jan I'll get a free 150£ in Feb? Seems a no brainer....
My Halifax reward account monthly charge keeps going up, now £17 per month.
Which one of these accounts is best to use for the usual banking stuff of savings, monthly wages and is the cheapest?

"Usual banking stuff" for most does not usually mean the various insurance cover, which is really what you are paying £17 a month for with the Halifax Ultimate Reward (instead of the free Halifax Reward account).

If you do want some/all of those various insurances that the Ultimate Reward account comes with Nationwide usually gets mentioned as an alternative.

If you don't need the insurances, stay in credit and can meet the conditions for the free £150 you could do a lot worse than the NatWest Reward current account and this switching deal.
1 cashier in branch if u r lucky
This again? Don’t it a couple of months ago, was £125 plus £50 in a other year

can you do this even if you don't switch. I only have a Starling Bank and Monzo which I don't want to close down.

Can I just join as a new customer without the switch over.
Would I gain this bonus if I open a new joint account with them or would It have to be a switch?

For this and the comment above, you must switch from an existing UK current account into a new or existing NatWest to be eligible for the cash benefit.

Don’t expect to see the £150 before the specified pay out day in Feb 2020
Excuse my ignorance, but does anyone know of any offers for switching business accounts ?
I currently have an account with NatWest, and another with Lloyds. If I switch the Lloyds one over will I be eligible for the £150?

If so seems like a good idea to have all of my accounts in one app.

Thanks to anyone who can clarify!

No one uses these to switch their main account. If you have a couple of spare accounts, you just move them around the banks when they do switching offers!

It's my hubby main account. He puts in £500 a month then it seems he qualifies
Can I close the bank account once I got the £150 without penalty? Thanks
We switched our joint account to NatWest about six months ago for their cashback on household bills. I’m guessing I won’t be eligible for this?

You could just leave the account open ready for the next switch offer.
