£150 with stamp on credit score ... No thanks... End of the day, it's all …£150 with stamp on credit score ... No thanks... End of the day, it's all same banks with similar services

Credit scores should be used to your benefit. Having perfect credit and no reward/ use for it is pointless. Rather have a temporary lowered score and get some free cash.

Unless you are applying for a new loan/ mortgage/ credit card then why not?

This is a priceless thread @Chanchi32 given RBS Group websites have been down all morning!

Does anyone know how long I'd need to keep this account open once I've received the switching reward? (The RBS online and mobile banking experience isn't worth the switch...but £150 is )

MrSing, Switch and ditch for the cash. Ask for £0 overdraft facility! 000's of HUKD bank cash bonus blaggers can't be wrong...
Beautiful I've just switched to Natwest for £100 and now it's off to RBS for another £150... thanks Chan 😁
Website doesn't work and apparently they never answer the phone and they shut all their branches. I still think I will do it for £150 but probably switch again after that

You won’t be eligible for this offer if you’ve already taken advantage of a cash offer from RBS and/or National Westminster Bank Plc (NW) between October 2017 and July 2019 for (i) opening a new current account and switching to RBS/NW or (ii) upgrading your existing RBS/NW current account.

You can use all the Natwest branches (same company).

I much prefer Starling though...I just do these switches for the easy money

Yeah I think I will settle on starling or something similar, the last switch incentive I will use is first direct when/if they put it back up, I'm on barclays double blue rewards until November which sets me up perfectly for this deal
Are there any other switches worth doing?

I've done RBS and First Direct so far.

Well I was one of the lucky ones that got through the net as I switched from NatWest to rbs and still got my cash incentive a while back
Kinda tempted, only just switched to first direct a couple of months ago, and I'm sure I'd get £100 if I left. Anyone else got the £100 on leaving first direct?

Edit: just looked and it says I have to have been with first direct for 6 months.

Had you previously had a cash incentive from either bank for switching though? That is the restriction, not a restriction on switching between these two banks.
Anyone know the credit score hit on opening a new account with Barclays to switch it over?

Yes, you will get it. If you leave after 6 months.

This lasts for 1 year before wiped completely.

Not relevant unless you have a big purchase on credit coming up in the next 12 months.

Btw, I switched to NatWest for £175 and first direct for £125 so have looked into this properly. It’s lovely when that free money comes in
I did the switch previously and never had a problem with their service. They’ve always answered. Just like any bank there may be the odd queue time. Same with the app. Mines only ever been down due to maintenance but again, which bank doesn’t do that?

I went to NatWest for the cash incentive and then switched to rbs and got that bonus also .
Ive never ever done this is it really worth 150 quid getting new cards pin numbers and crap? Ive been with Halifax since i was 14

No.

Open a “burner” bank account - then use and transfer that into this account.
Enquired at my local branch but had to see the person responsible for new accounts, and they were not there, so had to make an appointment and come back. On the second visit they couldn't answer a specific question I had, so they took my details ( mobile, email and home address ) and would find out for me. Never heard from them again. So I won't be wasting my time with them anymore. A poor company in my opinion.

Switching to Starling has been one of my better decisions. No more convoluted security procedure for accessing mobile banking. Easy pausing of my card if I misplace it - and instant payment notifications.

I haven't missed my Barclays account. Starling is my main, with First Direct as my secondary (5% saver account + switching fee). RBS is my current switch account...but looks like that'll be closing in order to open a HSBC account via MoneySavingExpert.

Pretty sure all these switching bonuses are tax free as well...so what's not to like?
£150 into your eligible current account by 7th February 2020 ??

Wouldn't be very prudent to offer an incentive to move to a bank that can't keep its online banking active!

Unfortunately, incompetence runs throughout the RBS Group often.

I don't need to log in often and I'd be happy with the £150, then I'll move on again
Just spoke to an agent on live chat who says there wasn't any switch offers today even though I have found 5 articles mentioning it.
