Couldn`t buy a sofa without trying it first
You buy a Sofa for £500 and expect quality then you will be buying it again in 2 years, there is a reason expensive sofas are expensive, because quality materials and good craftsmanship costs money, but they will last you.

you would do better buying a used good quality sofa.

No - they are junk, ours has aged pretty badly, wouldn't buy a sofa from Argos again.

For the price the corner Sofa's are not bad, but if you want something that lasts more than a few years and doesn't wear easily then find something else.
How can u buy a sofa without checking its comfort its beyond me
I fully recommend the velvet Chesterfield! If you buy a set, mix the colours and you'll love it!
Ordered a corner sofabed that was originally £580 and got roughly £170 off with the code. Thanks OP!
I've had the Milano leather since March 2016 and it's still in good condition. Some points though:

1. Cheaper leather sofas like this don't have removable seat cushions, they are one fixed unit.
2. The sofas are generally less deep (seat depth) than more expensive ones.

Apart from that I've sat on a few friends £1000+ sofas and yes they are better and will last for 10+ years. These may not last that long depending on your size, how careful you are and how often animals/children get on the furniture. That being said you're talking £500/600 for two sofas not £1200+ for one. I'd rather the difference go towards the mortgage.
Have had the Milano since 2009 and not a mark on it, leather still looks great. Only complaint is the seat on part of the sofa is beginning to sag but given it has been used for 10 years it has lasted well. The complete sofa front, seats, arms and back is full leather not just on the front like some from DFS.
Hi Has Argos confirmed this ends on the 18/02/20? I asked via Chat and they said they are not sure when this promotion ends?

I took a punt on these as my bonded leather (not from Argos) armchairs started to tare on the back of the head area. 2x 100% Top Grain Leather Armchairs at £678, which I think is a bargain. Of course, only time will tell if the quality of the chairs will last, but initial impressions are great and really comfy

Can anyone recommend a comfy sofa bed from here that can be cleaned/refreshed easily. It's for out open plan front room so will end up smelling of everything I cook! I want it to last at least a couple of years until we can afford to move out and upgrade

Completely agree, they're comfy and look fantastic
Thing really annoying about corner sofas at Argos. They have left or right but very few (only one or two) which can be configured to both left or right.
Reviews seem to be positive on the majority of the sofas, might just bite.
DFS sofas all the way. Approaching 15 years, a leather L shape.

NO!

Had a set, they are absolutely terrible. They are cheap for a reason! AVOID AVOID AVOID.
If only we could see them and touch them and sit on them 1st!

But DFS are not the company they used to be 15 years ago. It's cheap but overpriced tat now - same as Harveys. They don't make their own sofas, it's all imported from whichever supplier they can get the cheapest sofas from.

But Wallace and Gromit went to the UK factory and watched them make their sofa? Was that not real footage?
I bought a sofa from Argos once.

Once.
I’m actually thinking of buying a sofa here, are they really that bad?

Read the details - they are all different. Argos sell imported stuff made in bulk, so is cheap for a reason, but not necessarily is rubbish. Thrilled with mine, but it is Top Grain leather all round - be sure to avoid any bonded or faux leather fluff unless on a very finite budget (and prepared to replace in a couple of years). 10 year guarantee the build and 2 Year guarantee on everything else (according to the label on mine)

Had a good look all round, and nothing I can see to get upset about at this time. Others had said they have had them for years with no issues, with some noting issues, but again it depends what you buy

Frankly, I couldn't find cheaper elsewhere for what I have now got, so more than happy at this point

Not even spending a lot on a sofa guarantees satisfaction. We tried a sofa out in a shop, liked it (admittedly, my wife liked it more than I did) and now I really find it hard to get comfortable on. Much prefer sitting on the second-hand sofa we picked up locally for £200. A fraction of what we paid for our 'primary sofa'.

Would you mind telling me which model it is that you bought? And how long you've had it for? That's the problem with reviews - too many are from people who have only had them a few days!

After having sofas from hell from Harveys, I vowed to pay good money for high quality sofas next time around. But I'm quite amazed at how cheap the Argos top grain leather sofas are! So it is really tempting me to buy these:
