And during that year, watch your existing tv depreciate to sod all, or just stare at a blank wall. oO

Looks interesting, does anyone have any of these models already?

Cold for me, overpriced 3D TV. 2D is no good on this according to some reviews.

the 55" is still £2700 after the discount?!

Now if only they did this on Sony tellies I'd be able to get my 40nx713 for £943-£300=£643! haha

But seriously, out of those above I'd probably go for the LX990

The clue might be in "participating retailers"!

might buy one, get the cash back, and then sell it

Dam i am wanting the 60" PX990 but its not on this offer!!

The LG teles seem way overpriced - not that LG is a bad make but surely at these prices the panny's and larger Sonys have the edge?

Sorry but cold from me. These are way overpriced to start with and I wouldn't consider them until £700 off at least.

Cold for me.Price after discount is high and I dont like LG. From budget names I would go for Samsung.

Absolutely right - LG is rubbish kit. Sure, there will be people out there who will say "Hey! I've got an LG TV! And it's the best thing since sliced bread!". I can only surmise that the sliced bread these people are eating is mouldy.

Stick with Sony, Panasonic and Samsung for your TVs. More expensive than LG, yes, but you tend to get what you pay for in this world.

Well I've got an LG Tv and its 3 years old and hasnt missed a beat. Picture is great. My parents have a Sony LCD and the repair man has been so often he now sends a christmas card! Another friend is now on her 3rd samsung replacement in a year...

The LG LE8900 has won loads of awards and beats any of Sonys offerings hands down. I have a Sony TV currently but the newer models are well overpriced for what they are.

I would rate LG above Samsung hands down, and is better than a lot of the Sony models out there. Panasonic will always be the best IMO, now that Pioneer are no more.

Personally I think people are still disillutioned because of the Sony of old.

Yep, I opted for an LG over a Samsung and Sony when I last upgraded (two years ago now) and it's been super. The only complaint I have is how it handles fast movement, but I got what I paid for... and at the time LCDs were not great at movement anyway.

That said... those 3D offerings do seem a tad expensive compared to other 3D options... and I really have no interest in 3D right now. It doesn't add any value to the viewing in my opinion. It's one of those "hmmmm interesting" things. After watching Avatar in the cinema, I much prefer the blu-ray version.... and I much prefer HD football matches to the 3D offerings down the pub.

Deal for mugs only. Pay £1700 for Tv and get £ 300 back - joke.

My LG Plasma still knocks spots of most Sony LCDs, so that's just rubbish. Sony are overpriced and overrated. Panny do the best tellys at the mo and unless they drop their tech, it's gonna stay that way.

This would have been great if it was on the LG 50PX990 or 60px990 3D TV's how come LG didn't include these TV in the deal.

Not a good idea to get 3D TVs now, 3D technology is becoming better and better every second. Wait for the 3D TVs that don't require glasses..or better yet wait for the 3D technology to become fully complete.

The 55" is now £2281 from Amazon, making it a fraction under £2k after the cashback.

This TV is selling for £3k+ on other sites.

Hot from me.

you are paying for technology thats why lcd and plasma have dropped so much in price, i have the 47"lx9900 and it is absloutly brilliant in every way.

and thats because of all the problems they were having with them.

In terms of Plasma's you need to look at Panasonic as being market leaders and for LCD/LED in terms of picture quality and features then it would be Samsung however I wouldn't say the same for Samsung Plasmas which are good but not market leading TV's. I find too many people are quick to judge when they hear about a friends TV or a friend of a friends tv going faulty. Every manufacturer will produce faulty TV's its just your luck if you get one.

Best thing to do is look at several reviews of the TV you want to buy, if its an LCD/LED you will find that all the top end Samsungs will get good reviews and the Panasonic plasmas for that matter too. (remember every tv has its flaws, one tv wont do everything perfectly!)

samsung are biz mate, they seem to have this hold on the market for some reason, i know 8 yes 8 ppl that have had smsung tv's and had nothin but problems with them, and as for reveiws these ppl who reveiw tv's expext everything to be perfect and nitpick at everythin they are a waist of time. like my previous post go see the tv in the flesh then you can judge for yourself i will never trust a "professional reveiw" again.

I have a 50" panasonic but while being good it could be better.Been toying with making the jump to 3d myself and have trialled several different sets including panasonic, sony, samsung and lg and to be honest the most reliable picture i have seen is on the lg.
There are a lot of disappointed panasonic 3d tv owners that have issues as well as samsung owners.

Has anyone managed to get their £300 cashback offer honoured? Still waiting for mine - all deatils sent 30 December.
