I hate ebays fees, there's no end to them, especially with PayPals 3.4% and 20p.

Cold not invited.

it's not a deal, either you have it or you don't .

you may as well post your wage slip as a deal

Yep i used to base ebay and paypal as 10% of my selling price. Just sold a bike on their for £130, ebay took £13 and paypal another £5. Cant believe they charge so much.

Gumtree is owned by ebay and is free. Ok its not an auction but its got to be worth trying on their first just to avoid the fees.

Could someone post the direct link to the deal?

The most sarcastic thing is paypal took the money before you, and then say you can withdraw you money FREE!

Only problem with Gumtree is the physical effort needed to collect items. Also no protection.

I wish people would stop clogging up this site with this drivel. Why don't we just have a sticky deal like "Hey everyone, log into your ebay account every day and see if you can get shafted just a little bit less than usual".

eBay didn't use to take any of the postage cost but then some sellers started to take advantage of it like selling a laptop for £0.99 but with £300 delivery cost so they wouldn't have to pay fees. So eBay clamped down and now item price and postage gets the same fee....

Whilst it probably won't be a popular view, I find Paypal absolutely fine to deal with as a seller and buyer and generally find them a LOT more fair and professional than eBay, especially in terms of giving sellers fair treatment and actually paying attention to us. They have often helped me with buyers raising bogus paypal cases and chargebacks, in many cases crediting me out of their own money, which IMHO is going above and beyond what they have to do. They also helped me as a buyer with a troublesome return where the seller had since gone out of business so wouldn't accept the item back, Paypal got me the money and the item back.

With eBay support IME they are ok up till you have a problem not on their very narrow script of responses, then they just don't seem to have a clue. That is mainly my experience with their online chat at least they may be better on the phone....

The fees are horrendous,i only sell now when i get these offers, not got this one tho.

direct link anyone?

I raised this point when Ebay first stated this.
I was selling printer cartridges at auction (sometimes only selling for 99p) and charging £2.99 postage.
The postage over the counter was £2.50 +packaging costs.
So for a 99p sale Ebay charged me 40p fees +Paypals charges.
I stopped selling them.

The best way to avoid eBay fees?
Don't sell on eBay.

Got this but it's Sod's law I can't make use of it as its bad timing.

I really wish there was a decent alrternative to eBay. Would be good to see some competition to drive the fees down.

Reason why is because the Hong Kong an such sellers used to charge 1p for the item and charge £20 post THERE the ones who ruined it all for the NORMAL sellers

Thanks, I need to list some things so this is ideal for me.

Hot from me, works :D.
So ended my current listings, even ones I listed last weekend with 25% off fees and have relisted them all with this and have more stuff to list :).

Just got the 50% off email.

I don't think this is an alternative. Ebid is another but useless. I tried to sell an iPad on there. As the fees are significantly less than eBay I listed it £40 less than the going rate on eBay. Was still on there after two weeks. Added £40 to the price and put it on eBay and it sold that day. None of the other sites have the footfall of eBay so just can't compete. Without buyers the sellers won't come.

Ebay claimed it was to encourage free postage.(Coincidence that they gain either way).
