Specific information about this PromotionWhat's it all about?

Get 80% off variable percentage final value fees ("FVF") per listing in final value fees if the item sells and pay no insertion fee.A fixed order level fee of 30p and other fees, including any International fees, still apply.Promotion is valid for up to 100 listings on eBay.Listings must start during the promotional period.Listings can be auction-style or fixed price format. The promotion start and end dates are included in the email we send to invited sellers.Items must sell within the first listing period.Sounds good, where do I find the promotion and how do I sign up?

You can take part in the promotion on eBay.co.uk. Eligible sellers will receive an email with the RSVP link to the offer. You must opt in to the promotion by clicking on this link before any of your 100 listings start.

Anything else I need to know?

eBay charge an FVF when your item(s) sell(s). The FVF charged per order consists of: (i) a variable portion (“Variable Portion FVF”) which is calculated as a percentage of the Total Sale Amount; and (ii) a fixed portion (“Fixed Portion FVF”) for example 30p. The Total Sale Amount means the amount the buyer pays for an order, including the item price, postage, taxes and any other applicable fees.

The FVF Discount in this promotion applies to the Variable Portion FVF (net of any other discounts) in respect of the eligible items’ Total Sale Amounts. For example, if you would have been charged 12.80% on the Total Sales Amount, the 80% FVF discount will reduce this to 2.56%. The Fixed Portion FVF (e.g. 30p) will not be discounted. Therefore, the fixed charge of 30p per order will still apply.

You won't pay an insertion fee for each of the 100 listings. Listing upgrade fees will still apply and will be charged according to the eBay fees policy.

You may also be subject to International fees.

The number of listings eligible under this promotion may be less where seller restrictions apply. Click here to learn more about selling allowances.

Who can take part?

  • This Promotion is open to all registered Private Sellers who (a) have been invited to take part, (b) are registered to managed payments, and (c) have actively opted in (“Eligible Sellers”). If you have not registered for managed payments you will be prompted to update your details after you opt-in to the Promotion.
  • Participation is linked to the seller's account and is not transferable.
  • Eligible Sellers’ accounts must meet eBay minimum seller performance standards.
  • Please sign in to My eBay and view your seller standards dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standards. The seller standards dashboard is available to all sellers here.
  • If you registered after 15 March 2011 or haven't listed any items for a while, you may have a listing allowance of 10 items per month or of £650 per month, whichever is reached first. You may be able to increase this allowance by providing additional verification.
  • An eligible item previously scheduled to go live during the promotional period will qualify for the promotion only if you have opted in to the promotion before the listing starts.
  • If an item that is eligible for the promotion had previously closed without a successful sale and is re-listed during the promotion period, it will form a part of the 100 listings limit of the promotion.
  • You will not receive a refund of your original insertion fee if the item sells.
  • Listings do not have to successfully sell during the promotional period to be eligible.
  • If an item qualifies for the promotion and when the item sells, the invoice will indicate the fee including the discount. Please note: if the item does not sell the first time and if you relist it after the promotional period or if it is automatically relisted during the promotional period, standard final value fees will be charged according to the eBay fees policy when the relisted item sells.
  • Items that are automatically relisted through the Automatic relist function or the Good 'Till Cancelled function will be charged.
  • Only single quantity listings are eligible.
  • For items listed in 2 or more categories, only the insertion fee for the first category is included. Standard insertion fees will be charged for listing the same item for each additional category, according to the eBay fees policy.
  • Free listings in this promotion do not count towards your monthly 1000 free listings.
  • Your first listing period may vary and is dependent on the listing format you choose (e.g. – auction-style vs buy-it-now), the duration of the listing you choose and the listing experience you use. The first listing period will be considered to have been ended when the listing you create first renews or relists.

I clicked on this as soon as the post was listed... It said 'EXPIRED'

I don't know what made me just click on this again, but 20 odd minutes later ... It now says:

You've accepted the offer "Get 80% off Final Value Fees (excludes 30p order-level fees)"

This has never happened to me before, so if it didn't work for you... It's worth TRYING AGAIN!

Ebay charges are ridiculous and they include a postage price which you have to pay on the top. Massive ripp off
A "rip off" compared to what? Other online auction sites? Auction houses? Regards postage, given that there is a cost to the seller, there is understandably going to be a cost to the buyer.

Personally speaking, for "collectables", even at full fees, IMHO eBay presents excellent VFM to both buyer and seller when reaching a global audience. The alternatives are auction houses, which have far higher fees for both buyer and seller along with high shipping costs and you have limited control over listing content. Needless to say at 70% off, 80% off or max £1, the vfm increases hugely. (edited)

If I create a listing but schedule it to start within the time frame, does this count? Or do you need to just wait until the time frame is active?
You can schedule it to start within the timescale and it’s still applicable for the promotion providing you’ve accepted the offer before scheduling

Does anyone have a link to the 70% off please?

Can we put our ebay listing on here?
You mean advertise them on HUKD? If so then that'll be a no I suspect.

Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for this promotional offer because it has expired
Facebook marketplace for my stuff. Total rip off fees.
You are trying to0 early. It doesn't start till today - 2nd December. Some people seem to be able to sign up earlier, but for the rest of us we just get the 'expired' notice.

When eBay still decide to charge you fee (maybe in error) and you ring they contradicting information like if you click on an item and select "sell similar item" they will charge you full fee as you didnt create new listing.

I told them I've been selecting this option last few years after an eBay customer service person told me to click "sell similar item" instead of "relist item" to get the promotional offer.

Can anyone confirm its ok to choose "sell similar item"?
If an item is unsold, I create a new listing using "sell similar" and then delete the unsold listing. So far doing that has resulted in items qualifying for the FVF offer when the new listing has sold.

I’m finally eligible for 80% off
    Me too!!
  11. Avatar
Really couldn't pick between either of these, so decided to go crazy and post both.....

  12. Avatar
So relsiting doesn't work? Have to do sell similar?
I don't. Just end my Buy It Now items, go to 'unsold' and relist. Not once paid more than the advertised offer on fees.
  13. Avatar
    Only time I list. Ever.
  14. Avatar
Can’t remember the last time I was ever eligible for £1 fvf, feels like it’s very rarely happened this year when it would happen all the time previously.

oh well, thankful for 80% as I tend to only get 70%
Me too! I only ever see 70% maybe eBay were feeling generous
  15. Avatar
Not available for me, but heat added. Great find OP
    Try again today.

Goes to show eBay still making £'s profits - if you pay 100% fees then check yourself into eBay Priory....generally always get these for past couple years each fortnight. Shame they don't do this for biz a/cs too (would be great as depending on what categrory is between 9-13% FVF)..
Just a word of warning they are clamping down on business sellers masquerading as private sellers.
  17. Avatar
Ooooo actually worked and I need to list something too!

Eligible too👌 if I create a listing now but set it to start on Friday will that still work or do I need to manually set it up on Friday for the 80% off to work?
Should be able do a draft. You can check on the day when you actually list if it's worked though as selling promotion listing will be used

I made the mistake of clicking on the new 'Sellers Console' and it's an absolute nightmare and apparently no way to revert back to the old style system... has anyone experienced this and found a way back? Apparently there was an option to go back to the old style system but eBay removed it! I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who found themselves on this new 'Sellers Console' and managed to go back to the old familiar system?
  21. Avatar
Not for me, as usual, but the 70% off link from 2 weeks ago worked
How on earth do the old links work still please share
  22. Avatar
Does anyone have this damn handy comparison in a higher resolution? Thanks.

    Could make another one...
  23. Avatar
I find these never work? Sold something for £15 last 80% off received about £12. Don't get it???
When you say "never work", I assume you mean you get the offer, accept it, list within the timeframe and per the rules, but don't get the discounted FVFs when the sale concludes?

What does the breakdown of the fees post sale show? (edited)
  24. Avatar
    Thanks. Worked for me.
  25. Avatar
Yep I’m definitely blocked from these now. Oof
    Why is that?

Does eBay remove (or at least speed up) the stupid new 'we're holding your funds' nonsense that means when you get paid the funds don't get released and sent to your bank account for about 2-3 weeks after you list so many items?
I heard somewhere it’s 90 days after your first successful sale that they stop holding funds (this resets if your inactive for a long period)
  31. Avatar
So the final value offer isn't if you sell an item within the dates of the promotion, but anything you've listed within them dates?
It needs to be listed during the four days of the promotion and sold within the initial listing period before it automatically renews after 28 or 30 days.
  32. Avatar
I always get the email for the 80% and the £1 max selling fees. Whenever I click on the £1 max email it opens eBay and says not eligible invitation only etc etc. Really annoying! Does anyone else have this issue?
  33. Avatar
No joy here. Been waiting for an offer like this too. Typical
  34. Avatar
Does it apply to Buy it Now listed items, or is it auction only? I've used it loads for auction items over the last year, but haven't tried a BIN yet.
It applies to buy it now, as well. Sold several items already with 80% off fees.

Does any one know that if you accept the 70% can you then accept the 80% offer ?

My understanding is that eBay offer you 70%, 80%, £1 Max or nothing at all. Thus you can only accept what you are offered.
