Trade-in at least £10 worth of Video Games through Amazon.co.uk between 00:00 GMT on July 7, 2012 and 23:59 GMT on July 22, 2012 and, in addition to a Gift Card for the value of your accepted products, you will receive a £5 Promotional Claim Code to use the next time you spend £10 or more via Amazon.co.uk.

Not sure how this compares to other trade-in offers at the moment, but seems like a good deal.

Claim code should be received within 5 days of them accepting your items - however I've used this promotion before and it can take a bit longer...

Warning - lots of games getting 'lost', check Amazon discussion threads for further info: amazon.co.uk/for…in/

they are offering pennys for games
I was getting my hopes up on it being another "trade in any two games and get an extra £5" sort of thing. They appear to have learned their lesson from that last promotion!

Trying to recoup their losses from before...
most of my games are worth less than a quid lol oO
Yes, this is less generous than the last offer.

Yup. Reckon they'll have fixed the error they had with the codes too...
For me, it's a pretty good deal, as I use Amazon a lot. I've been looking to trade Deus Ex in (it's free on PS+) and WWE 12. CEX are offering £11 for the pair, as are Amazon, so an extra £5 on top of that will do me.
Their prices are mixed. Some are good some are bad. They change quite often too. If you've got something they want then this is worth doing. I did it last time and with the books too. Always good to have Amazon credit.
Poor to me,

Deus is £7 at asda
Wwe 12 is around £13

Good for me kz2 90p +£5 extra makes it all good

Minimum trade in is £10!
Daam!
Out of my last 3 trades with Amazon, 2 went missing both of which were the high value items so I would be wary dealing with them now.
I've traded in some old Uni books and two vita games this year with Amazon.

The two vita games got great prices, much better than selling on eBay or trading into GAME
Nice one, been waiting for the £5 gift voucher to come back again. I've got four games that come to £10.70, + a £5 gift voucher, that'll do me for games I don't play and apart from one (Left 4 Dead) aren't worth much more than a couple of quid anyway.

Are they reliable?
Most of these prices are pretty meh... most of my PS3 games came up around the £3 mark - a bummer when I paid 10 times that not long ago. Tried my old mint FF games and it wants barely a fiver for most of them >_>.

Haven't heard of Recorded Delivery?
So could I trade in 3 games worth £10 each and end up with 3 £5 vouchers?

I'd be careful about posting something of high value. Lots of stuff goes missing on its way to amazons trade in service as seen by the forums there. RM don't compensate for the free post service amazon offer so you can find yourself stuck if something goes missing.

thanks for the advice, I'll maybe use a different method to post the xbox and consider this £5 voucher payment for that

If you're selling, I'll buy left 4 dead from you assuming its the first one
Normally I'm skeptical of poor feedback, but there's a lot here. I'm going to put it down to either poor processes / systems in the department, staff shortages, or one thiefing git working there. Whatever it is, it actually looks like less hassle to stick it on EBay than use Amazon, something I thought I'd never say.
Prices are insanely different. Phat PS3 40gb is worth about £50 when like new but if it comes with GT5 Prologue its worth £127? Seems a bit odd to increase the price by £70ish for what is essentially a glorified demo. Will give it ago as I am sick of the PS3 taking up space and not being used.
It needs quite a few games just to get to the £10 limit & then you've got to factor in postage, as they'll go as a Packet rather than LL for a single DVD size & this will wipe out the credit
Trading in games is rarely good value. It's generally better to sell them directly on eBay
shocking prices for trade ins, would always use ebay
Gonna also say that I have had stuff go missing, customer service is terrible I sent about 10 emails and it took months to get them to give me any sort off compensation in the end I got a £10 amazon voucher for £20 worth of stuff going missing, avoid like the plague.
Lol i remember when they first started out they used to give up to £30 for some used ps2 games i took full benefit of that zoverstock was my favourite supplier.
They are offering just £1.95 for Kid Icarus on the 3DS yet £9 for Bit Trip Saga.

Would appear they are guessing the trade in prices

COLD even with the extra £5 you can get more selling via the forums or ebay
Received an email yesterday from Amazon yesterday about this offer and thought it was a joke. Sorry but voted cold.

yeah i got this email too, but upon looking at prices i gave up. very few decent prices indeed, the £2 for kid icarus is clearly to stop people trading it in, they must have too many.

alone in the dark on ps3 gives £5 i its in good condition, that one high price id say.

i must say though all the games ive previously sent them were decent prices and they all arrived with them and they paid the new price for them all too, got the extra codes etc. and all of them were simply posted on the post box outside my house.

i have around 6 games worth £36 though but not sure if i will send them all, oh and someone asked if you send 3 lots of £10 worth would you get 3 x £5 codes, well the answer is no - one per account. now if your mate has an account or a family member, then send them in as their account if they dont mind.
£1.45 for Fallout Vegas, for a game that takes 30+ hours to complete, might as well keep it for that
