Trade in an awesome vertical-standing, gamecube-compatible, classic, trustworthy and moddable Original Wii Console and get a horizontal, Wii-only possibly untrustworthy and possibly unmoddable (i'm not really into those things) for just 50 bucks! What a steal!

Isn't this the version that doesn't play gamecube games? Luigis mansion!!!

Can you it traded in for a black console.

The game is £24.99 at Grainger Games.
graingergames.co.uk/gam…mes

So they're changing £25 to downgrade your Wii. This is cold to me.

Yeah but my white Wii can play Gamecube games, can the blue one? Nope thought not. I reckon the white one will be worth more.

The previous versions of the Wii could all play games from the previous Nintendo console called the "Gamecube".
If you looked at the top of your wii, (if stood vertically,) there should be 2 flaps and underneath there are ports for Gamecube controllers and memory cards.

Nintendo then removed all this for the newer version of the Wii.

Hence why I think this isn't such a good deal.

why swop a wii for a wii anyway?

Isn't it cheaper some blue stickers and the game and keep your superior white console. Doesn't really matter on the colour the Wii will be worth £30 next year if you are lucky the way the prices are dropping.

So I can trade in my well used 3 yr old(maybe 4?) wii and get a new one with a warranty and a motion plus controller?
Do you need the old controller as part of the trade in?
Might look into it.
PS I'm not interested in gamecube games or Modding the old.
Are there any other differences?

Yes, you can. You need at least one controller and nunchuck. The only difference is lack of Gamecube support and the horrible blue colour. I think you can still mod these new consoles because Nintendo don't really care.

The reason this was a good deal for me is ..My console was 5 years old & Noisy after years of play!!!!...

My 9 year old loves it & trading in for a newer model with a warranty was def a good deal...Gives me peace of mind...should the old one of broken down

Also for him he is not bothered about Gamecube & to have a Blue One would really make him happy!!...with Olympics 2012 game included ...Perfect + I had £35.00 worth of trade in value to put towards it as well!!

So this deal may suit some but certainly not all.....
