Hello all - my first post. saw this on Top Cashback offering 45 pounds cashback for opening the credit card - should track within a week and payable soon after. I checked T&C - and it says no annual fee.

the only con is that the acceptance has to be given instantly online for the cashback to track - mine went through ok....

Now £47.25p Cashback
- Jeikobu88

Now £45.45 tcb

oO Well that sounds a good one! Heat. Welcome to the jungle.

Here's the overview peps: Post Office Credit Card Overview

Nice one needed to get a credit card after recetly being stung on car hire insurance. Might as well make a few quid as well, 40 notes for me via quidco.

It may be worth mentioning that it cannot be tracked on a mobile device so must use a laptop/pc

Anyone know roughly what income you would need in order to accepted for this?

I also got the within 5 working days message. Hmmmm, fingers crossed.

Looking at terms "Credit Card application must be accepted online at time of application to be eligible for cashback."

Do I even have to use it? I apply get accepted and never use it.

I get £40. How long untill i can get rid of it?

Self-employed for 2 years. decent credit record but I was turned down. Each application for credit leaves a "footprint" on your credit record and it's best not to make too many credit applications in a short period of time. Hope that info helps someone.

Will give this a try when I get home from work, free money and a CC I'll never use, sounds too good to be true

I applied for one through Quidco - similar cashback. They had to verify 4 seperate proofs of address in the post. Absolute nightmare. Not sure if it was worth all the fuss. Good deal if you get an immediate acceptance though

Post Office banking services are really just a front for Bank of Ireland. Should be all OK now though, Irish economy recovering well and no longer requiring bail-out.

I've done a lot of stoozing in my time. I cant often do it these days as the card usually affiliated with RBS, MBNA therefore I don't qualify as I'm not classed as a new member. Does anyone know if this card is linked to a big bank? I've had a google but I'm still not sure

Thank you.

Filled in the application and now the wait to see if it tracks...

Thank you for choosing Post Office Credit Card.

What to expect next:

You'll receive your card in the next 7 working days.

Lets see if this works then.....

Saying I've been accepted for the card but as like everyone else Im dubious to whether this will even track. Make sure you all clear you internet cache before applying to help it chances of it tracking properly

Its not simply a case of ordering the card and getting the cashback you need to purchase something online to get the cashback

Post Office cashback is available through TopCashBack on genuine, tracked … Post Office cashback is available through TopCashBack on genuine, tracked transactions completed immediately and wholly online.POST OFFICE CASHBACK can be earned simply by clicking through to the merchant and shopping online as normal.

You have read that wrong.
That message is there ever time you make a transaction on TCB or Quidco.
You will get paid once you have the card you do not need to use it

When did you apply and how long did it take for the cash back to be awarded?

This is tempting, I got £60 cash back awarded for the Amex card all within a week.

From Amex cashback deal people were commenting that it affects the credit history. i wonder is it the same with this card?

not showing any cashback on the merchant page of TCB....? There's an orange 'get cashback' clicky, but no cashback is stated?

Are you asking if you apply to a credit card, whether it would be imprinted in your credit history?
Yes it does for all credit cards. So if you just recently applied to the Amex, it would leave a footprint on your credit report that you just took out x amount of credit. Depending on your credit score, it may or may not significantly affect your application successful rate since they will know you are applying for too much credit in such a short period of time.
Typically, you should wait at least 6 months before you apply for another credit card.

Just applied, just wait and see now. Thanks.

Only took 10 minutes to complete, card will arrive in 7 days so hopefully cashback tracks and pays out

Is 4 months not okay? What would happen if I apply; will my credit rating diminish?

You can only apply if "You are employed, retired or a homemaker with an annual income of over £8,000 excluding unemployment benefits" - I'm a student

I would get this if it was a debit card because I have just got an apprenticeship and will need a card but don't want to have the opportunity to get myself in debt even though I consider myself good with money.

Thanks for the post - I was thinking of getting one of these anyway as they don't charge to use this card abroad with foreign currency.

I would not advise anyone to go through topcashback and rely on their cashback at all. In my personal experience it was all good for me for small payments up to 15£. As soon as I got large payable amount (80£ or so) and requested it, Topcashback froze the account, and I could not even log in. They then did not reply to any of my emails requesting explanation. I googled and found quite a few similar stories. I was back to Quidco, which is much more reliable, and I find their customer service honest and genuinely helpful.

Thanks for this op Great find!
