Game are giving out paper bags (ask instore) and pop your old games in it, recieve £1 extra per game thats in the bag. PS3, XBOX 360, Wii and DS only.

Offer ends 9th June 2010.

I say take your old games in and ask for a bag then and there, Glasgow Fort had loads and said most stores have them under the counter.

Not a bad deal as you can get 50% more trade in value for older games (worth £2 obviously)

I know eh, why waste money on getting bags printed up, lol.

weird offer, game offer really crap prices on trading in, best deal would be to get 100 and trade in loads of really old pro evo games they sell for 24p and get at least a quid for them, as there pretty useless and worthless these days

Thats exactley why I posted it.

Games trade ins are not bad, better than blockbuster by £3 on a certain title I asked about today.

There's about 30 different PS2 games at CEX for 10p-20p each so trading them into GAME for about £1.10 each will get you a very nice discount on your next purchased game.

Great, more 2nd hand games Game can sell as 'new' online

Didnt realise Game stores sold trade ins online, thought that was only game.co.uk. Ebay is better anyway, trade in value wise. Mind you, you lose on 10% minus the paypal fee. Pump up that postage

Game.co.uk don't, but they were selling trade ins as supposedly new, my house of the dead was scratched so bad my wii wouldn't read it, the original price label was half off where someone with filthy hands gave up on rubbing the glue off & the manual was dog-eared.

When I called them about it they said do you want to send it back for a refund, or keep it & get a refund?!?! Naturally I kept it & thus obtained a backup copy from the interwebs. Good job I own the original. :whistling:

Others got lucky but there were a LOT of unhappy people, gameplay.co.uk too, no idea about gamestation...

But you're right, they don't take in trades online, so I guess the stores sent back any multiple copies of used games they had/couldn't shift.

Interesting, so the moral of the story is dont buy off game.co.uk?

Please add any relevant comments to my ongoing thread about GAME if you have the time:

]GAME sells ex-display stock as 'new' - Will refund or replace any non-'mint' goods bought at Easter

They have operated this "paper bag" trade-in scheme in previous years as well.

I presume it is a sly marketing technique over a holiday weekend so that other customers will see lots of these bags around town as parties take in their pre-owned items & promote the fact that the store is taking trade-ins.

They then may be tempted to visit (as well) to see what is being traded-in & once in-store may purchase something.

BFN,

fp.

made me chuckle today, i took back bad company 2 and fifa world cup 2010 on the ps3 , game offered £28.10 for the pair, oddly enough i took them to CEX who gave me £24 for fifa and £16 for bad company 2.
