Also Creosote thats good over fences...
I was going to back Itchy Fanny buts its been scratched
The other good thing is is that you can put the money on and it comes back as cash which can continue the offer.

so say you put (can split t on different horses mind)

£25 ew = £50 which gets £25 back
£12.50 ew = £25 which gets £12.50 back
£6.25 ew = £12.50 which gets £6.25 back
£3.12 ew = £6.24 which gets £3.12 back
£1.56 ew = £3.12 which gets £1.56 back
£0.78 ew = £1.56 which gets 78p back
and can continue with this.

or as one of the groups said £3 ew on every horse and hope the outsiders all come in for a tidy profit

Just did some sums on the 'put £3 e/w on every horse' idea - you'll lose around £30 if the worst case scenario happens, and the 5 lowest odds place.

If you'd done the same on last year's National, you'd have made £44 profit (16/1, 16/1, 50/1, 33/1, 16/1 came in).

If the 5 highest place you're set to make a gain of over £570 though!

Good work but you're going to have to redo those calculation, those may have been the odds at post but they weren't the odds at 1200 when the offer ended.

May be only if you're logged in. Try a £1 e/w bet and see if you get £1 refunded!
It just worked for me. Offer did appear on the homepage though. I put £120 down and got £60 back instantly and withdrawn that
Eek brilliant, Thanks. I'll use matched betting to guarantee a profit
How come there are 44 horses to pick from if only 40 horses will race???

There will be a few non-runners on the day, so they have reserves. If you bet on a horse that doesn't run you'll get your stake back
Gubbed long ago at 365. Great bookie while it lasted though. Their horse race offers were 2nd to none IMO. Heat.
Thought I had an account but had to sign up again, hoping it will be for new customers too?

I doubt it'll work as they say you have to have held an account before Wednesday 11th April. You can always ring and ask about an old account, their customer service is very good

Thanks for that, yes I may do as the new customer offer is quite good, matching what you deposit , up to £100 but not as cash only bets. I will only bet on the National otherwise will get carried away

Just reactivated my old account and can confirm the offer only shows on the promotion page when logged in (presumably to verify it's not a new account)

Not quite correct, you stand to lose £59 on the stake of £125 if the 5 shortest odds finish in the first 5 places

2 non-runners today, they've refunded me £6 back in total (since they gave me £6 refund already). So they will likely do that again when there's another 2 non-runners. Meaning I would have spent £127 altogether and have £3 each way on all 40 horses.

You do realise that you are in clear breach of Bet365's Terms & Conditions, specifically clause 11 in the Grand National T & C's which state:

Where any term of the offer or promotion is breached or there is any evidence of a series of bets placed by a customer or group of customers, which due to enhanced payments, Free Bets, risk free bets, Bet Credits or any other promotional offer results in guaranteed customer profits irrespective of the outcome, whether individually or as part of a group, bet365 may reclaim the enhanced payment, Free Bet, risk free bet or Bet Credit element of such offers and/or void any bet funded by the Free Bet or Bet Credits. In addition, where there is evidence of such activity, bet365 may levy an administration charge on the customer up to the value of the Bet Credits, Free Bet, risk free bet or enhanced payment towards the administrative costs incurred in identifying and taking action against the activity.

By backing every horse in a race, you are guaranteed to win (even though you may ultimately lose money overall if all the favourites take the first 5 places)

Bet365 will probably ignore this, unless there are one or more "big odds" outsiders in the top 5. However, be aware that they could either keep all your moneyand/or close your account (also known as being "gubbed") if they decide to.

And before anyone chimes in to say "they wouldn't do that", Bet365 have a history of doing exactly this when they have caught people using the same strategy to guarantee a win on their "free £50 inplay football" promos.

To protect yourself, it's safest to back (say) 35 horses with Bet365 and do the remaining 5 somewhere else.

Not according to my calcs... I based it on the 10/1 favourite winning, and only paying a £120 stake (40 horses at £3 each). 1/4 odds for the placing horses, plus 1.25 for the winner, with initial stakes returned.
