i got it on alpha for £7

people need this game!

supermod

My kids are gamers across a range of various formats (xbox and ps3 users living in harmony X) ) but they all love this particular game, totally addictive and highly recommended

I got the beta when it was £11.99 and I think I paid too much, it's only Yogscast that makes it entertaining for me X)

supermod

The two main guys voices on the Yogcast drive me insane as I hear it second hand minus the actual video X)

Ridiculously addictive this game is X) Some amazing mods out there too.

Let me be the first in this topic to disagree and go as far as saying this is game is complete garbage. (thats my own opinion for those that think everyone should think the same :|)

My kids love this game, though I don't see the appeal as the graphics aren't up to much.

Don't know how this game has sold as many copies as it has.

This is a perfect demonstration of graphics over gameplay. If you don't like it, that's fair enough, it's not for everyone, but don't let the visuals put you off. If you actually sit down and give it a chance, it's one of the most addictive, open and unpredictable games around.

I've had it more than a year now, and still regularly go back to it. No big console titles have been able to hold my interest for that length of time, and I have both a 360 and a PS3.

For those who haven't really played this, the best way to think of it is less like a game with narative (though that can be added with mods) and more like a modern take on lego for all ages. You basically get addicted to buidling whatever you can imagine.

Its like lego, I love it but I dont find it addictive. I like playin it for a bit then leave it for a while, its good in small doses too me. Good price, and good for the games industry to support indie devs (although notch is rolling in it).

the graphics are amazing

Do I need SLI to play this?

my boys 5 11 and 14 all love this game!

Would it be folly to ask if Minecraft is mac compatible?

You should be asking if Mac is Minecraft compatible :P

It is. and linux. it's written in Java, in crossplatform manner.

I'd say the same about CoD, just shooting each other over and over.

Everyone has different tastes.

Gameplay over graphics, right?

Not for me, but my nephew and a few cousins in the 8-14 range are addicted to this game.

It is a-maz-ing! HOT!

Haha I got it on valentines day (buy one and get a gift code free) and I got my friend to buy one xD

The appeal is the utter creativity. Those of us who are creative know what I mean, you get the same feeling from being creative as you do when you drink a nice cold glass of water when you're thirsty, its sooo satisfying!

Did you look at guides/crating mixes? At first I found it boring until a friend showed me a complete crafting tutorial After that, it's dependent on imagination.

Best £8 I've spent over the last 2 years.

I'm still waiting for Autodesk to put a version of Maya or 3DS Max with achievements online so gamers of all ages will start making free models for them to use while pretending to be 'gaming'.

I don't really have anything against Minecraft but once you know professional 3D software tools this is just childsplay really.

Surely this is more of a reminder that the price is about to increase, rather than a deal? It's been this price for months and months and months so it doesn't constitute as a deal in my books. Not voted either way.

The graphics requirements are actually quite high for the visuals.

Also, this is an extremely addictive game which is limited by the imagination of the person playing it, so if you say it's dull then stick to MW3. As for calling it childplay, let's see if you can build an Arithmetic Logic Unit using logic gates made entirely in minecraft. Have a look on youtube ( minecraft ALU) and see just what is possible.

Great little game! HOT.

The ultimate time waster; and that's not a compliment.

people need to have given this game a I before voting cold. addictive, beautiful and inspired and if you enjoy creating or exploring then this is for you.

Brilliant game.

You haven't experienced true fear until you get chased out of a cave by a green monster that looks like a c**k going hiss

Very addictive and a lot of fun but tough to explain to others as to why it's so good.

Some of the mods are cracking, the Pokemobs mod in particular is very interesting and I am looking forward to see how that develops.

Wow. This is awesome compared to blitz on the Vic 20!

Had a lot of fun with Terraria recently so maybe this'll be ok too, though I never did see the appeal for this game but at the same time I never saw the appeal for Terraria but I guess it's just a case of trying it. I won't be paying this price though because let's face it, once everybody has the damn game it's gonna lower in price, my best guess is that by Christmas it'll be in the sale.
