From today until Monday morning you will get a free SE Z610i if you buy any other refurbished phone over £50 (quite a few to choose from). The Z610i still sells from about £40 on eBay, so think about as a £40 discount on any Orange refurb phone over £50. Not bad!

It's a free RECONDITIONED SE Z610i, it should be noted. Obviously affects the resale value if people were thinking of purchasing for profit.

Still a good deal. Now, refurbs from Phones4U tend not to come in the original boxes and often all the original accessories (well certainly most of the ones I've bought from them). Does anyone know if Orange are more meticulous over their refurbs?

they will come with battery (sometimes used, sometimes new), wall charger, Orange 3G SIM card and user manual. Plain box too.

No QuidCo from the Orange Accessories shop as it's not fully run by Orange.

Ok, X380 can be unlocked and so can Z610i aswell.

Which of the others can be unlocked for free? And whats one with the best resale value on ebay?

Definitely a Hot Deal and I'm considering buying right now!

But had a few laughs at the website as well, just anyone else see the reconditioned Motorola F3 priced at £24.99? You can pick these up for a fiver brand new!

what about warranty etc?
thanks

Just bought
1 x LG KE970 Shine.

Just hope I can unlock these without going to the market!

Look like it's only six?

Just ordered the Samsung F210 and the SEZ610i for £79.99 for both and free delivery. Outstanding offer!

I didnt realise that the Z610i was 3G so it will be ideal for my other SIM. Nice one, thanks for bringing this one to the boards!

i am thinking the SE z610i will be a patch unlock with setools.

i ordered the N70 as i have the cable and dejan's software to unlock it, then debrand with Nemises and Nokia's software updater. I will see if i can get the Z610i patch unlock and debrand with XS++

if i unlock the z610i?

How lazy are YOU? If you unlock z610i what? Will it sing for you? Will it dance for you? if you unlock it, what!?

next day inc sat...if you get poste in ur area on sat

Nokia N70 unlock

either get the code from orange, you have to be with them for two months plus pay £20
or go to a market stall
or use ]Dejan's software (you will nee the software and a Full Pin DKU5 cable). Guide ]here.

Nokia N70 debranding

]Nemesis Service Suite (changes product code)
]Nokia Software Updater (updates firmware)

Install Nemesis Service Suite. Open the program and then click the "Scan for new Device" icon in the top right of the screen. The screen should then be filled with information, click the "Phone Info" button at the top of the screen. Then click the "Read" button. Amongst other things this will show you the current product code of your phone. You now need to change this to a generic Nokia code. N70 Generic Euro Music Edition 0536418 (other codes ]here). Replace the current product code with this new code. Then check the enable box and click the "Write button". You have now changed your phones product code! You can double check this by clicking the read button again, this should show your new product code.

You now just have to install the new firmware update. Make sure that you phone is connected to you computer through the USB cable and then open the Nokia Software Updater that you previously downloaded. Follow the step by step instructions and install the new firmwear. Do not at any time disconnect the phone until it tells you that it is safe to do so. Note the phone will restart itself during the update process.

That's it, your phone has now been debranded!

pretty certain they will be locked to orange. am more concerned about if they have the orange brand too (logo etc)?

i am interested in the SE W580i.

99% chance they will have some orange marking on the actual phone, and they will be locked and have the lovely orange firmware on it. But you can debrand Sony Ericsson and Nokia's quite easily. Some can be fairly easily be unlocked to.

i assume the unlocking and unbranding the firmware/software is quite straight forward, either DIY or few quid in a shop.

the only thing bothers me is the orange logo/branding on the phone itself.

could someone who has received their Z610i or W580i confirm that there will be orange logo/branding?

many thanks.

i think the offer will be over by then, but i read somewhere that nail polish remover does the job quite well :w00t:

Don't expect any data cables, memory cards etc with Orange refurbs - altho u may get lucky.

Also the offsite monkeys (Dextra Solutions) that handle the despatch are often confused about your returns rights under tha Sale of Goods act so be prepared.

Remember all........

Most of these wont be refurbished as such, I:e will look secondhand, they use the word "refurbished" very loosely and I have had a few of them, 90% have gone back as they look heavily used.

Could someone please explain this phobia with having the network provider's logo on the phone? It is usually about 5mm square so fairly unobtrusive and I'm willing to bet that a lot of these people who abhor these logos will think nothing of parading about in clothes with Nike, Adidas, Pringle etc etc with logos many time larger than an Orange or Voda log. Weird or what?

I use my trusty Black & Decker with a sanding disk myself
All that stuff comes off a treat!

From many reviews, the sony erricson z610i has a few faults, such as the phone switching itself off, signal suddenly losing and the phone suddenly displaying "invalid sim". This seems to be the case for orange network especially.

Could someone confirm that these faults have fixed??

I have to say that I've bought from them many times and every single handset looked brand new with plastic stickers still on... but I guess I might have been just lucky
