GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM APPLE FOR FAULTY IPHONE 6 + £249.

Right here goes I got an email from Apple regarding my IPhone 6 + that had a hardware issue away back last summer, there seems to to be a common problem with them that the hardware crashes about a year and half down the line, they are unfixable so Apple charges you £249 to get a new phone instead of getting a repair done, they have now come out with this refund policy for all iPhone 6 + that had the hardware issue. I have just came out the store after showing them my email and got my £249 back. Result.

It seems OP means he got charged £249 for a repair but instead Apple decided it was easier too give him a free phone (for that £249) - now Apple think the repair should have been £100-odd but they're just refunding the whole £249 - obviously half the people won't claim or even know about this. Then he sold the new phone.

What new phone did you get for the £249?

I got my phone last summer and having issues now.

When did you get your email?

I spoken to Apple, They said it's only given if you had a screen replaced with them

You get paid £249 not to own an iphone? Result.

Trevisparky - Did you get your screen replaced by them?

Should not be covered under warranty in the first instance?

Apologies-Am I the only one who is confused here?

Is this the 6 or the 6 plus ?

I don't quite understand how this is a freebie.

Me neither, if you paid them £249 to get a replacement phone due to a defect that should be covered under the warranty then you aren't actually getting anything. Get nothing for free? I get that all the time from everyone!

(Rolls eyes)

Should be in the 'Misc' section.. reading up on the repair program i'm guessing the only people who would qualify for any potential refund are those that paid the £249 before the introduction of the repair program. Helpful advice but not exactly a freebie

That's fine I'm only trying to help people who could miss out on getting their cash back.

really pathetic. apple clearly have no faith in their so called premium overpriced product. Samsung provide a parts, labour and support for 2 years on the s7 edge. not only that the s7 edge is technically 2 generations /years ahead of the iPhone 7, screen is also higher spec and bigger than the i7 plus, yet still smaller.

iPhone 7 and 7 plus are poor value compared to the s7 edge. s7 edge has bigger and better screen than the i7 plus yet it's smaller. much better warranty and support and higher spec

That's all I was trying to do was inform
People of the money they are due it's not peanuts it's serious cash.

Let me clear this up as I've processed a refund with apple this evening. If you had a phone which you took back to apple iphone 6 plus and said it had a touch screen issue and ended up paying for replacement iphone for 249.00 then you should have actually only had to pay 146.66 as mentioned as part of the multi-touch repair program, so they will refund the extra 103 pound you paid. I had to do this via apple support which I did on the phone, it took me a full hour.

Is this a fault with screen freezing and locking? My phone is 3 months out of warranty and the screen freezes and nothing will work. Doesn't happen all the time but still really annoying given how much these phones cost.

Ps - I think it's easier said than done to switch phones if you have Apple TV, MacBooks and whole house use iPhones, everything is backed up from years back. It took me long enough to learn iphones, I like the look of the Samsung phone but getting too old to figure out how to use it lol.
