GeForce now is a great way to turn your mac (which many of us have into a fuller fledged gaming pc) was playing call of duty ww2 at 60fps 4K on my iMac. You do have to buy the games sadly. It connects your mac to a gaming pc over the internet so have good internet. Just create a bovids account and download now while it’s free. This will also be coming to pc
soon!

And yes PUBG 4K 60fps on a mac. Never thought I would say that!!!!!

@BuzzDuraband this might be for you?

I was literally just looking at your post. I read about this earlier in the week. I feel so spoiled now. An Xbox One X and some 1080ti 4K gaming all in the SAME week. And they said us Mac users couldn't game

ok so wheres the deal? How much was it before? Whats the saving?

I'm guessing you aren't able to identify a deal anyway.

I will throw you a bone. A deal is where a person can make use of a product or services for less than it may cost elsewhere. It doesn't have to be a tangible product and not necessarily useful by everyone.

I can see the attraction for big single player games, but an online shooter where reaction time and responsiveness is critical? I can imagine it'll be frustrating.

I know right

Sounds very much like Liquid Sky which is already available for PC and Android, who needs Apple?

Or LiquidSky.

And any other Cloud gaming provider.

Would love something like this that runs over lan, i.e. gaming pc in a different art of the house to the mac

Steam link, supports OS X or use bootcamp if it's problematic.

Edit, run steam link on the PC then either use Steam link natively on the mac or use windows via a virtual machinelike or dual booting using bootcamp.

Lol

4k game streaming!?

Yeah right!

Gave it a go, downloaded and installed the client. Click to start Pubg it brought up the Steam login page. Got my username and password in, then the mouse shot across the screen and the password box just had more and more characters appearing it in until it was full. I just had to quit. I’ll try again later but not impressed so far.

Its interesting, if the game severs themselves are running on cloud services (Ubisoft have been using Amazon). Suppose Nvidia Geforce where to use servers on the same platform there should be very little latency.

Theoretically the biggest lag is between the home and the cloud and an extra bit of computing in the cloud "might" not make much difference. Just thinking out loud and probably in the wrong place

Biggest restriction is the list of supported games.

Interesting but likely sponsored video here Heeeeeeey !

This guy then goes on to talk about upload and download speeds, without talking about ping and latency, he should know better.

Anyway, its free, I recently installed Fallout New Vegas under bootcamp so am interested to see how it runs on this. I would love to see how Witcher 3 runs on my set up at home, you tube seems to destroy gaming footage.

wait is this a free trial or is this free forever,

Been using this for a few days to play Destiny 2 on my MBP - works well. A few slow downs and hiccups but able to Raid happily using it.

I would think free trial and then costs will come in down the line once they have finished the testing phase. But if you can get it working, then make the most of it!

Bioshock infinite works great on Ultra. I can see this appealing to a lot of people.

Great for everyone who honed their 56k 300+ ping latency skills on Quake 2 in 1999 and felt it was playable.

Not so great for people wanting an enjoyable, comfortable lag free gaming experience.

Oh no mac users, you have thwarted us PC peasants. To commiserate I will go and play any game in my library offline on my peasant machine.

Not to say this isn't cool if you really don't have a gaming PC available, but this is basically just onLive isnt it? Only free during beta too by the looks of it.

Multiplayer gaming via a streaming application on a mac LOL

"Steam In-home Streaming" is the name, Steam Link is just a product that runs a client for Steam In-Home Streaming.

It's a good experience. I use my GPD Win (a little 5.5" windows PC shaped like a nintendo DS) to stream games from my big PC. No way would it run something like The Witcher 3 otherwise.

So....By "Turn your extensive doorstop into a gaming pc" you mean "Connect your expensive doorstop to an ACTUAL pc, that can ACTUALLY run games at 4k, thereby meaning that you're required to buy a mac and a gaming pc that comes with a 1080Ti".

Good grief.

Cold for idiocy.

For someone who seems to just play video and post deals on this site you sure have not heard of this thing called latency, enjoy onlive 5 and a even laggier pubg.

That made absolutely no sense whatsoever

Thanks for reading the comment though. The one with the Xbox One X part. I'll be playing PUBG on that

Mac would get higher fps.

Seriously why are gamers such a bunch of fanboys? I'm into quite a few other hobbies where people enjoy chatting about the various brands and pros/cons. Must be the (vocal) demographic I guess.

won't be free for long!

The input lag and streaming quality from these yuck

Well your opinion and cold vote made all the difference......
Perhaps I shouldn’t try this free option on the Mac I already have, because you said so

I've been using this on my Mac for weeks. Anything that means I don't ever have to boot into my home built Windows 10 gaming PC is okay by me. I have Virgin broadband at 220mbps with ridiculously low ping stats. Which means I can run games absolutely smoothly with no frame drops or loss in graphics quality.

I don't know whos the idiot here, but as far as I understand you just need the mac.. Trough internet you connect to a super high end pc (that you dont own) that can actually play pubg at 4k...
The thing is if your monitor is lower than 4k resolution it can't miraculously turn it into 4k. You will see it with your resolition.

Also im worried about the input lag.. heard the idea of gaming on stream while ago and its actually happening now
