why cold ? cheapest i can see them

Banned

bargain-hot! cheapest ive seen them for ages! shame i didnt need another pair

Yiddos probably voting cold cos once again The gunners are Top Dogs ...Toon toon black and white army!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cracking price, might just treat myself my last pair just broke after nearly ten years

Ordered thanks. Voted Hot!:)

voted hot - good price

Heat Added for best price - but would recommend from experience buying a different brand that are cheaper but just as effective

Unfortunately on this site it's not about the offer/sales price against retail, it's all about whatever the cheapest alternative is, even if it's not comparable.

Exactly the same story with
-Mac threads with people not interested in a Mac but desperate to convince people why they think they shouldn't have one.
-Bicycle threads, with the £100 from Asda comments/'this is more expensive than my car'
-Car threads - why buy * when you can get a 15 year old knackered BMW for £600
-Chicken threads - again not about the deal but always full of righteous people.
-A/V threads with that **** running around with the unfunny Onkyo/Sony meme

This site's going to the dogs unless people can accept that some people do still have some spare cash and want a specific product and are willing to pay more than something which other people consider to be 'comparable'

Heat added for your deal anyway

If that is a reference to my post please read again as i have said that i have voted hot for price. However i have added a suggestion to find a similar product whic i can advise if necessary. The aim of this site is to help people out with deals so if i can help save someone £40 by advising a second product i will. On a separate note, while i agree with you on things like the onkyo posts if it still gives an entertainment value to some then who is it hurting. No one is forcing you to read all the posts.

ur prob right but your point is ?

No point really, just an observation for anybody wanting to save a few pounds....

I'm just a dumb guy so I could do with some educating: I just use a £15 one from Asda and it works fine enough.

What do the more expensive ones do better? Like... it's just two hot plates at the end of the day, right?

Not you particularly as I'd not even noticed your comment, and you've at least got the common sense to see that this is a 'hot' deal as the best price for the item.

Constructive criticism like yours isn't a bad thing, whereas people mouthing off that it's cold because they can get 'chalk' for '£* cheaper than cheese' adds nothing of value to a post.

If the Onkyo posts are your sort of entertainment then you've got my deepest sympathies, would you like some Ann Summers posts with the usual unfunny innuendo to go with? True I don't have to click on it and I'm all up for fun and games, but every joke has a limited lifespan, and in terms of hi-fi deals, decent discussion/recommendations usually gets lost amongst 20 posts of unfunny tat.

the missus doesn't use anything else but GHD's, they've lasted her for years. Not sure about any other brands but they seem to be built to last.

Good retailer too, purchased from them before and pays out pretty quick (quidco).

I can't fault the GHD's for build quality and usage quality however last time our GHD's broke we weren't flush enought o shell out for another pair so opted for a £30 pair of remmingtons which we have now had about 3.5 years and they are every bit as good as the GHD and in some respects better.

Thanks g/f wanted the gold ones (like theres any difference ?) worked out at £101 delived with any luck will get 7 quid from quidco.

I'm new to hair straightners, but all everyone ever talks about are GHD's. This model has been out for 4+ years as far as I know, and when it was out it was advance because it used ceramic. But now everyone else is using ceramic as well but have other features also, while this just seems like a standard (but still expensive) straightner. Can anyone else tell me if or why this is better than the other straightners that are out today, given that you can get babyliss ceramic ones for 20quid?

I've voted hot either way.

Very often it is to do with the heat that they produce. I myself have very frizzy hair and have had several sets of ceramic straighteners. As i posted in an earlier comment there are 2 that i would recommend 1. these GHD's @£80. 2 - Remmingtons (can't remember the model number) @ around £35 They have adjustable heat and come with a thermal cover as standard which is very useful for after using.

Just to add. i think the Remmington ones are better and lower priced. These are the ones amazon.co.uk/Rem…5QC

and they are down to £25!! bargain

Is it the amount of heat they produce or how effectively they apply/maintain it? I've got some cheap ceramic unbranded ones I've used a few times, and it makes my hair straight, but it only lasts 2-3 hours max, even after using hair products. I'm wondering whether this is due to the hair straightener or whether it's because I'm a guy?

Edit* :s I'm sure I put a comment here.

Was asking whether the shine therapy ones were better since most people seemed to buy that one instead. Thanks for the help

Yes, it does make a difference. When you get a pair that have the right mix of plates and heat it will stay straight for the full day. Except if it rains - no straighteners will help you there I'm afraid!!

Probably after you sign up and put your card details. It's so annoying how every single website wants you to register, especially since your never going to visit the site again.

Nope :-( Just nearly cost the full £89 :-( Xx
