My beloved asked for a replacement pair off Santa. Looking at £119 elsewhere but a google search brought up John Lewis at £87.20 with free delivery. At least with JL they will be genuine. 20% off normal price of £109.

Did they sell out to a different company years ago, the ones since 2010 or so are crap? Least that's what the folks in the salons say. Cloud9 are what the GHD guys did next, wife's had hers for about 8 years now.
eBay is great for these. Good prices on refurbished straighteners
My Wife always bought GHD and they lasted 4-5 years, this time she went for these from Amazon around a year ago and they have been great, and a fraction of the price, 1200 5 star reviews.

My original pair lasted me 17 years then bought a new pair from Amazon but the plates don't go completely flat anymore so uneven straightening.
Someone else said I should have got the Cloud9s instead but I didn't know before I bought the replacement pair.
I wish mine had temperature control too
No free crimpers this time?

Was wondering which ones are better ghd or cloud nine?

My Mrs swears by the cloud9 ones, they automatically cut off after a period of time if left alone (which to be fair they might all do these days) but at the time it was a novel feature. No more worrying about setting the house on fire You can also select the temperature, which I'm not sure you can on the GHDs
If you do purchase these or anything else from John Lewis and the price falls within 28 days of purchase for any reason*, you are entitled to a price match, as long as the item is in stock. Fill in the NKU form on the JL website and your pricematch should be processed quickly.
*this includes any sales and black Friday. I did it last year with an xbox one and got £80 refunded within 24 hours.
Great find

Mine sold on facebook marketplace within minutes (could have sold a bundle if I had them) - made the straighteners super cheap and one happy wife

That information is correct cloud9 is made by the people that originally made GHDs and they are soo much better. They have temperature control and automatic cut off as already stated and the quality and build of them seem to be a lot sturdier then the current GHD models. My other half has had hers for a good 2 years now and it’s still going strong with no problems. The plates close flat and evenly and the temperature still seems to get to its original heat settings straightening the hair with ease. It also does our kids hair with ease and they are mixed race with Afro texture hair. I hope this helps anyone looking into the difference between the 2.
Cloud 9s. Ghd aren't what they used to be. (Direct from a salon owner)
80£? Can get one for 30 what's the big difference?
Thanks for posting @diddly08 we have added your thread to the Highlights section
Always better to buy from a legitimate business rather than ebay where so much fake stuff abounds, lots of consumer programmes warn of the electrical and health risks, the series fake Britain had a fake £250 Dyson hairdryer sold as genuine that was unsafe so buying expensive gets you the real thing.....mostly.

Seruiously , wait a bit longer if need be and spend the (when in sale) extra on cloud 9 they are superior in build quality and application .
Back in stock.
Back up to £109
