Agreed, fancy weather effects don’t warrant a pre-order in my opinion.

i'll probably end up buying it somewhere down the line, but it's hard for me not to anticipate a very standard "8/10" game which fits perfectly into the AAA video game mould. the graphics are pretty nice though i can't deny
I'll pick it up when it's on sale. Still haven't finished HZD, GOW, haven't started FF7 Remake and got TLOU2 on pre order. Got quite a lot to last me till the PS5 drops.

This is why we have game's as a service now, the day 1 hype excitement is dead in 2020, im glad i got the memories of the fun of it all!

as soon as IGN give's it an 8/10 the bandwagon boycotts it as being a "standard" game.

Anyway rant over! i'm sure i'll enjoy it

Does anyone listen to IGN , I buy what I like and don't require reviews to guide my purchases
How did we cope before the internet for reviews I do not know hahaha

trust me, the last thing i'd do is click on an ign review lol. all i'm saying is that for me anyway, this game doesn't look like it's trying to push the boat out in many ways, instead sticking to a pretty "standard" open world formulae where you set a marker on a map and go to it, just giving it (what I think) is a generic bog standard "8/10" feel. it sure as heck doesn't look bad, and i actually do want to play it. i still find myself pre-ordering games regardless anyway too

Theres very few of us who still live like this in the gaming world!

A game could be a 4/10 , doesn't mean i wouldn't enjoy it! but then again in 2020, what used to be a 4/10 would be a 7/10 as thats a "rubbish game" these days

I got stop ranting on the internet

Agree with this, many swayed by critics and influencers,

Home front revolution springs to mind, universally panned by critics but I enjoyed the game.
Some set their expectations way to high

On top of all that,if someone doesn't like something they will go on and on to the people who do like it, about how they dont like it and why people shouldnt like it.

Unfortunately many games have their fate sealed by this,
Many good games that go under appreciated 😔,
Although you could say one person's gold is another's rubbish

I try not to follow anything about games i'm interested anymore because of spoilers etc, but i know theres loads of tosh round TLOU2, i've had loads of people telling me the games rubbish? don't pre order? its failed?

I haven't even played it no one has! Its all off the "news", i'm still looking forward to it, i'm still buying it day 1, i don't care about all the tosh round it.

Same for Cyberpunk!

Look at this thread, no ones played it but its already being touted as a "standard 8/10 game"

I need to stop ranting.

More of conversation than a rant ,

Same of the last of us part 2 I'll still be buying it, I don't need or revel in rumours or spoilers
Same of ghost of Tsushima looks a nice interesting game.

In relation to an earlier quote it's look like every other open world games
All open worlds games look the same with roughly similar quests and side quests
It's the story and/or the setting that makes the open world mixed with gameplay

For example assassin's creed oddesy yes I'll admit very repetitive in places but the world and environment I was in made the game for me.

Psst plagues tale innocence is an amazing game if you enjoy that style 🤫

well for a high-budget game in the "AAA" industry, rating a game as an 8/10 (as flawed as that system is) means for me that it is in several regards, average. with the amount of time and resources at hand, failing to make a decent statement and instead reusing old and existing ideas is what i'd consider somewhat disappointing. i didn't mean to hate on that game, i just don't think it looks like it will offer something too out of the ordinary. also the idea of enjoying "poorly rated games" is something everyone should agree on. all i want to say is that for a "AAA" game at least, looks a bit average (which doesn't mean bad or not enjoyable).

...why do i write so much just for a hukd thread?
