Two Gibson classic guitars here, they're a bit Marmite for the most part, but we're all looking for something different. I couldn't resist posting them at these prices, they just seem too good to ignore, really.

The Firebird is cheaper than the Epiphone model, so if you've been considering that... it's a no brainer

The price might fluctuate ever so slightly due to exchange rates.
Both come with a gigbag

Mad that the Gibson is cheaper than the Epi

These are budget Gibsons: unfinished paint, mini pickups, dot fret inlays, no binding. The brand new Epiphone Firebird is very high quality.

I'd ensure that you're able to return anything you buy easily. The last Gibson V I tried was a POS.

Gibson have been putting sub-standard firewood out for well over a decade now. The quality is absolutely disgraceful even when you are in the 1500 and above range.
In terms of brand positioning I meant. Epi used to be a bit of a poor relation, but these sorts of prices will surely cannibalise sales off the cheaper Gibsons. If they can produce better quality guitars at a price point that undercuts even the £1500+ Gibbos, why would you spend the extra? Just to get the name and a slightly different headstock? Or are people going elsewhere, e.g. PRS?

Full disclosure: I own an Epi LP Standard, my2006.
No love for the Gibson Explorer Tribute Ebony at £673?
