GiffGaff Double Data from 20GB to 40GB on their £20 Goody Bag - 30 day rolling plan.

GiffGaff have today announced that they are doubling the data on their £20 goody bag to now include 40GB of data, instead on 20GB.

This appears to be a permanent deal and obviously reacting to Smarty and Voxi, who offer similar plans.

GiffGaff use the o2 network, personally I find data plans from o2 or providers that piggy back off of them are usually more expensive than other networks, but this deal seems to quash that myth now!

So hopefully might be of use to someone requiring lots of data at a cheap-ish price, but rely on o2 for a decent signal.

The plan also includes unlimted calls and texts. Also be aware if you travel in the EU, GiffGaff limit the inclusive data abroad to 20GB.

GG used to be great, but they've fallen so far behind their competitors offerings it's quite ridiculous.

Tbh this summer deals have been crap so far.

Spring Vodafone 100gb £20/m
Then 100gb £24/m
Think now it's 40gb £25/M

Other sites haven't really been doing great. But 3 did unlimited everything £20/m the other week.
Its more the speed, or lack off, that puts me off giffgaff
Yeah, I've been with GiffGaff for years but recently offered better on O2 via TalkTalk, so I think it's time t part the ways (albeit on 24 month contract £6 a month 1000 mins unlimited text and 3 GB data).

I was on GiffGaff for a couple years, but then moved to VOXI over the higher data for the same price (6/8GB for £10). If GiffGaff can do this, then I'm coming back

Totally agree even their MD said the same when they released results a year or so ago.
I wasn't with GiffGaff in the early days, which is when people say they were so much better, than they are now from their experience.

But I genuinely think they are excellent. Think the app is brilliant and easy to use, like the idea how you can if you choose to queue your next bundle and this is not obligatory.

With me being a tight a*se, I usually let the goody bag expire and leave buying the next one for a few days until I actually need data or to make calls. If I am working from home or going into the office, I have Wifi for all my internet needs and people can still call me. I usually buy the next bundle when I actually need to make a call and get a message saying I have no credit, can get away with only buying 10-11 goody bags a year!

The internet speeds aren't as bad as many say, get 16-20mbp/s in 4G areas. ID mobile I can get 20-40mb but as long as the internet is reliable and can stream at a steady pace, no issues for me. While ID Mobile/Three's coverage is decent, with GiffGaff using o2, always appreciate the improved coverage.
Does not work on WiFi calling. So 90’s

With the exception of ID Mobile, none of the networks that offer 30 day pay as you go bundles offer WiFi calling.

Even though ID Mobile like to boast they do, they only support the facility on a limited number of phones. My OnePlus phone which is running Android 9 will not work on ID Mobile wifi calling, even though the main networks support it, and is usually dependent on the version of Android if WiFi Caalling is supported.

If ID don’t support your OnePlus then neither will Three.
So a £10 goodybag gets you 3gb and £20 gets you 40gb, ridiculous difference. They certainly know how to pee off their customers on a budget, must get my daughter on a new sim deal asap!

Three are to start supporting OnePlus WC as they will be stocking O+ soon, think O+7Pro 4G is on sale now

Yes I agree, they need to keep up with the times, I've got a GG sim in my spare phone just so it works but if they started offering more data for a tenner or so I'd be right in there, perhaps they'll take note of voxi and change accordingly.

WiFi calling does work on OnePlus with ID. I have it! I have a OnePlus 6. There's a special menu you can access and activate it. Instructions on the ID mobile forum..

Dial *#800# > oneplus Logkit > Function Switch > Then tick VoLTE switch and VoWifi Switch > Reboot.
