It is a con to have expiry dates. They the money in the bank as soon as you buy the card. Bank notes do not have expiry dates & the bring new notes, then you are allowed to change them to the current issue without any penalty.

Word of warning, many of the gift cards have short expiry dates. Vue …Word of warning, many of the gift cards have short expiry dates. Vue cinema is a real scam, you have to use the card within 1 year, there is no valid reason for them to expire when you have given them your money to sit on and earn interest.

1 year is quite a long time. Why buy it if your never going to use it?

It’s the liability to the business and actually a responsible thing to do , if you can’t decide what to see in a year maybe not worth buying in the first place.

All the Vue cards i've ever had are valid for one year from last use. So every time you go to see a film (or check your balance) the year period starts again. Are you sure this isn't the case with this one?

As said before any company who doesn't have an expiry date on them is open to financial disaster. the only con it is, is a condition.
Heat for the effort in this cold weather 😁

One4all gift cards are a waste of money..the longer you take to use them ...the more they DEVALUE!! they take money off for ADMIN FEES...

The clue is in the name 'Gift' card, if you give them as a gift you can not be certain that the person you give them to will use them in time. I had two £20 cards given to me but rarely go to the cinema, when I got around to use them told they had no credit as they had to be used within a year. Really mad at the scam they have pulled, the person buying them for me just donated £40 to the Vue directors pension fund.

1 year is a huge amount of time, it’s clearly stated, everyone knows things have expiry dates, so how is it a scam? Save your energy on supermarkets that have best before dates and end up chucking tonnes of food away each year

I'm another one who has received a gift voucher I was unable to use within the year, happy birthday Ticketmaster.

I dunno where to put it, so I'm just gunna write it here:

One4All gift cards can be redeemed in Argos for PSN (PlayStation) wallet top ups.

Most (if not all) the retailers are for another world that I don't tend to shop in. They shot the consumer in the face when they removed Amazon from their affiliates.
Sadly too late now for those who have lost money as they couldn't use them within a year, but be aware that you can often renew a card's validity for a further twelve months simply by checking your balance. Admittedly though, sometimes even doing that can be a bit tricky.

Just a quick question has anyone ever seen Laura Ashley gift cards reduce?

Did not know this. Thanks.
Can you use promotional code or workplace discounts on top of these i.e nandos and nhs
Good thread chanchi but I’d be very tempted to take the New Look link down as it’s had a profit warning and might go into receivership soon making the gift cards potentially worthless.

Usually yes, as they are treated as a cash payment
Nice. The Amazon £6 for £30 gift cards worked for me.
Thanks OP!

Debating the One4All card - it doesn't start charging for inactivity until 18 months, so I don't mind that part. At 5% off and a 99p charge for ordering, it'll have to be a £20 card to break even. But the potential to combine with retailer offers and cashback makes it pretty sweet. Can anyone who's used these share their experience?

PS - John Lewis on the site but not Waitrose, same thing or nah? Also M&S for groceries, nice!
If anyone knows of discounted Netflix gift cards then please let me know
is this not just a list of all other deals ? so where is the actual new deal ?

I get exactly what you mean, but from a business side of things it's smart because so many of us forget about them and end up spending more money

says no longer available?
Nice - I forgot to register for the Amazon £6 offer last time, and then it had run out. Registered now 😁

Wish there was a Nintendo switch one
Careful with new look they're looking ropey
For info - toys r us gift cards are only being accepted until 11th March - use them if you have any
