AM4 ATX Motherboard and 8GB (4GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM. A good place to start I reckon.

Should be no compatibility issues but check the memory QVL list on the motherboards website.

Morecomputers £165.95 next cheapest Motherboard without RAM and
Ariapc £94.79 for just the RAM (black 4GB x 2 2400MHz) both checked on uk.pcpartpicker.

If the ram was faster i would have jumped at this, unfortunately as its only 2400 its not great for a Ryzen build. Still gonna vote hot though for the good price.

I guess if you really need to build something right now, I think this is something you might consider. Otherwise wait until the release of the new X470 motherboard chipsets or wait until RAM comes down in price.

Good spot, budget DDR4 especially hurts Ryzen so ... meh.
Diff between ddr 2400 and say 3000 is not massive - between 1-7% in games ( based on a quick look on inter web). If you can save £20 in price for the lower speed and put that to a higher CPU, you would get more benefit.
I have a feeling the diff in speed between DDR4 types may be more for the new 2200/2400g tho as the GPU “part” will probably benefit from the higher speed memory even more than the CPU?

My G.Skill Flare X 2400 overclocked to 2933mhz using slightly looser timings at 1.35v.

Where it helped with me is I get no more FPS drops during gaming. My minimums are much higher. Overclocked from 2400 to 2933.

You would be correct. DigitalFoundry have literally just done a video on this.
This seems like a particularly great deal. What's up with it?

Maybe people think its Gigabyte/Scan and they avoid the brand at all cost or RAM is too slow 2400MHz for basic/gaming/productivity uses or the RAM is 8GB and people want 16GB for the price? It's around £80 cheaper than buying them separately but only if you want these products.
