saw this on Amazon but didnt post it maybe cheap but the CPU to go in it isnt.
It has been this price for a few weeks as I almost purchased one. I'm pretty sure the reason for the price is that this board is being discontinued as no other X299 board with similar features comes close. So if you want one, don't hang around.
Even that price isn't enough to make me want X299 in any way.

AMD’s Threadripper offers higher base clocks, but can’t keep up with the Core i9 when clock speeds are boosted under load.

But it's also way way cheaper. It's also dependant on what you're doing. Not to mention being able to use the same motherboard for Threadripper 2 later this year which I'm sure will have higher clocks etc.

I just don't find X299 to be a good buy.

I got 5, and very first deal here at 200 from scan was OK. Not a single one after that (2 scan, 2 amazon). Wierd.
