How does this compare reliability and quality wise to the Asus prime Pro x570?
Would be a nice deal to include the free PSU with a B450 mobo
1.5% cashback via Quidco as well

With motherboards these days I've come to the following conclusion:
If Buildzoid doesn't recommend it, don't get it. Unless you can get it cheap and/or you're going to run stock.

I like the way they’ve put the graphics slot at the edge so it doesn’t block any of the other slots, if I was in the market for a new mobo that would sway it.

You would never place a GPU in that last slot.

Would it not work, I’ve got a bit behind with system builds over the last 30yrs

It would be sub-optimal since the motherboards are optimized to have the GPU in the PCIe slot 1 (top armoured one) because of the PCB tracing on the board itself.
Even in crossfire/SLI this board only supports 2-way so you'd use the Top Two PCIe x16 (the armoured ones).
You'd also have lane issues in that position depending on the CPU.
By the way, this is a very well balanced board with quality VRM ( this is important because I assume if you are dropping 200£ on a board you're getting a 3900X or 3950X and OC'ing). Anything bellow that (up to 3800X) and there are cheaper options like the Tomahawk X570 or the Elite. And if you don't need PCIe4 ( only useful for storage, no gpu will need it for years) get a b450.
You should be fine with this combination and the free PSU too with 80+ Gold and 750W!
Just pick a 3600 or 3200 RAM from Amazon (crucial on 30% off). A SSD and the GPU of your choice.

I was lucky enough to get an ROG Crosshair VI X370 for £45, if not this is a great deal for a new pc.

Straight up this! One more m.2 slot, bios flashback.
Better VRM and VRM cooling.
Not to mention the free PSU.

I just have in and ordered to pair with my new 3900X

Where did you order the 3900x and how much did you pay? Don’t seem to be many offers on unlike its bigger and smaller siblings.
