There was one of these floating around the Warehouse for £200 the other day. I’ve had a few of these and while the cards are well made and solid, the fans are total **** and will break after a few months use, seems to be drying out on the low-cost sleeve bearing, pretty sure they’re not ball-bearing fans like the better manufacturers use.
What’s the policy with Amazon global store returns if they break down. Will they pay for return shipping etc? Could it be tricky with going through customs etc?

I second this

gigabyte has the WORST fans and WORST coolers in the business - worse than many offbrand chinese manufacturers

buying one of these is throwing your money away. I've had 4 fans on different gigabyte cards fall apart and bust up after only a few months use.

I was going to go for Gigabyte too, glad I went with Asus in the end then.
Get a gold rated psu with these 580s - just solved a year of random restarts with my bronze rated 750w by changing to a gold psu.

I went through this with some RAM returns a few years ago. If you return something to the US for repair, then you don't need to pay any VAT / duty on it when it comes back (because it's already been paid once). However, if they replace it rather than repairing it (which they almost always do with tech products) then you have to pay duty/VAT on the replaced item, and can then claim the original VAT back. IF you've got all the necessary paperwork, of course, and you'll still need to pay collection fees. In my case it was worse, because RAM prices had more than doubled since the original purchase, so I had to pay more than twice the VAT than I was able to claim back.

The issue you had was nothing to do with the efficiency rating. Either you had a faulty PSU or a cheap crappy design one.
Crazy to think for £150 more you can get an Xbox one X, which is basically a altered version of this card, and an entire gaming system.
