Looking for a Z370 board? I've just ordered the 8700k and been keeping an eye on prices the past few days, this deal is actually cheaper than what they are selling the this board for alone! Ignore the Pre Order as it said that earlier and I ordered it thinking it doesn't matter when I get it as I'm waiting for the CPU to arrive. However it dispatched and will be with me tomorrow! So worth a go if you are looking for one.

Out of all the boards this has one of the best VRM setups, I researched every board out there and this is what I settled on.

You could also sell the cooler to make this board a bit cheaper for you.

I have no idea what the shipping cost is as I get free shipping from Scan, others may also have free shipping if they are members of qualifying forums.

I ordered mine from Scan, but they seem to have put the price up the past few days.

How much was your 8700k when you ordered it? And what RAM did you get with this? Thanks in advance

Why is this so cold?

Probably the AIO cooler.

Juat get a ps4 pro if you want to play games, cheaper, easier and it just works.

I paid £359 I think. I haven't ordered the RAM yet. I'm still looking, the prices are ridiculous.

Good price and voted hot, however if you have a 6700k / 7700k it's not worth the upgrade. I would also look at ryzen

People buying PC conponents want to be able to do more than just play games... and you will find most of us know what we are doing so the 'just works' comment is invalid. Besides, if one was to buy a console, it certainly wouldn't be a PS4.

There is quite clearly a market for it. What you consider a lot of money (£400) might not be as much to someone else. Nobody ever said high spec PC's were cheap mate.

PS4 is great for gaming but you can't do much else with it, apart from catch up TV and the like.

Why would anyone spend £400 on a ps4 pro when it came out barely any time after the original console release? Also doesnt even do true 4k for the price. Ps4 pro may be replaced by a new ps4 in say 4 years if not less the way consoles are going now. Pc? Keep looking after it and you can still be running it at better graphics than a console for double the amount of years. Therefore they work out value for money. Plus you can do a hell of a lot more on that pc. Music editing, 3d model design, gaming, browsing etc etc.

Pc and gaming is cumbersome, drivers updates, new hardware etc. I completely disagree. Ps4 or xb1 just work and work great. Pc gaming is for a small communty especially as consoles have got so powerful!

Mine is working fine with the Adata XPG 32GB 3000Mhz kit that Amazon occasionally have on backorder for £170... Can take a month or so to arrive though, so thankfully I stocked up before the CL release.
They do decently priced 16GB kits too.

"top end PC", has "960 graphics card".

Im sorry, you certainly dont know what youre talking about.

In addition, the longevity and the return on investment a PC can offer far outdoes a console. Im not saying its right for everyone, but a PC certainly has a longer life-span, more choice of games and can be used for everything other than gaming too.

This is a good deal for those wanting the best of the best, the hardcore overclockers. For everyone else, myself included, you wont notice a difference between this and a £120 board.

I'd like to know which console, as there's simply no reason to get an Xbox One if you have a PC and if I was a gamer I would 100% have a PC and a PS4. There are exclusive games on the Sony platform that are just incredible gaming experiences. The only other option is a Nintendo Wii U or Switch. I recently bought a Wii U as I wanted the cheapest way to play Zelda.

Anyway I recently priced up some gaming systems to sell in work and you really don't get much for your money now. I've seen it over the past year where everything has gone up significantly partially due to the weak pound.

It's cold because it's a the Z370 chipset which is going to be replaced within a year. Who wants to spend so much money on a dead platform. The hardware and prices is fine, it's the knowing of having no upgrade path which sucks.

Hot deal.

Can anyone offer any advice, I am after more of a rock steady home PC.

I am a power user, use 2 x 4K monitors, have loads of ram and ssds on my current computer and keen to build a new system. Am looking to run a VM of MacOS so that I can use iMovie. (Does that sound ridiculous?).

Any pointers as what I should be looking to buy? I had thought about Hackintosh but like the idea of not having to reboot.

Budget is around £1500, I have SSDs, OS and some RAM (don't know if it would be compatible) and happy to build myself.

Any forums that you would point to? Or would you all just recommend suck it up and learn Premiere Pro?

How can you say that though, that's pure speculation and the chipsets get replaced every year anyway?
I had a i7 4790K, I just sold the CPU and the Motherboard for nearly what I paid for it 3 years ago. That had no upgrade path because it was the 2nd CPU for that socket and that was only a refresh. Hardly anyone keeps their board and puts a later chip in it. And that's including AMD platforms which is getting a refresh next year so that socket is dead.

There never has really been an upgrade path and if there is no one takes it as they want the extra chipset features.

The price increases have also been caused by NAND demand (for SSD's), mining for GPU's, and RAM and CPU prices have followed to build the minuing systems. The weak pound has only made it worse, its not a great time to be buying parts indeed.

In regards to your comment, I wouldn't buy Xbox or PS4, full stop. But if a gamer was looking to buy £"50's worth of motherboard, the PS4 Pro is hardly cutting edge is it? In the little research i have done, I would swing towards Xbox for its Play Anywhere features.

If you want/like a Mac get a Mac. I've had hackintoshes which are fun, but expect issues.
If you don't mind using Windows and all your apps are available then get a PC.

A platform is only as good as its software, and that software is obviously games. You simply can't play Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian, God of War, Gran Turismo Sport, Drive Club, Horizon Zero Dawn and many others on any other platform, where as the Xbox platform has very few exclusives and most titles are available on a PC. If you have a PC then you just wouldn't buy an Xbox One.

I'm aware of the NAND issues I was speaking broadly in terms of PC components, everything has become more expensive. Also mining is pretty much worthless now so things should improve in that area.

Horrible time to be buying PC components now, I recently sold 16GB DDR4 for £70 which is the price I paid for it, as I promised it to a friend of mine. The very same RAM is £160 now, it's insane.

1. Ssd - don't have to wait 5 mins to load a game

2. High end gpu- no more 30fps limited graphics choices

3. Mouse and keyboard - try beating someone in a FPS game with a joystick lol. Or move your units about in Starcraft or ashes.

Why buy a pc for more money? Because people don't just drive to work in fiat pandas. Some of us like to drive a BMW or a Porsche
