Lol it's an excellent card, I had one for two years before I bought my 1080 wish I had just kept it in fact

cheers buddy, i thought i was wayyyy behind with the times when i saw this 2080 posted :S, seem to be running virtually any game in 4k ultra settings minus the latest soul calibur that slows down abit on 2 player..
Not bad- makes me hopeful in a few months (with another 20% off code) i'll be able to pick up a 2080 Super for the same or less!
Hmmmm is this worth 40 more than a 2070 super... I'm not sure

Depends, 2080 super is coming out in a few months, honestly, if I was going for a graphics card I'd go with a 5700xt with an aftermarket cooler when they come out though.

I've been thinking about a 5700 xt, but part of me really wants ray tracing even if my frame rate bombs.
I paid £240 less than this for a 5700 XT. So that's 60% cheaper for 10% less performance in most scenarios. Seems really bad value based on that. For those gaming at 4K the 5700 XT up scales and sharpens a 1440p image brilliantly well, to the point where its hard to tell the difference between that and native 4k, even with still images (let alone when moving in game). Basically 50% extra FPS for minimal loss of quality. Good video on it here:
Tempting but seems silly when the Super is due out. Apparantly I've heard 23rd July but somehow I don't see that happening.

I'm waiting for the Super or for a huge price reduction on these ones.
Gonna be a massive upgrade from a 980 ti

If that's what you feel like then go for it. I have a 2070 and it is somewhat capable 60fps with Ray tracing at 1080p. So a 2070 super will be a decent card

I find that strange... my 2080 ti is not exactly overwhelming on 4k ultra, to the point where I dial back settings to keep 4k and good frame rate.

Aaah!! Gonna check that out as the other day I did compare this to the 2080 super for my personal needs and to be honest that card might do everything I want...

I'd hate to spend this much money though and not reach at least 60fps in most games at my high resolution. I do get close to 60 in most games but I usually have to tone down a few settings with my current aging 980ti (which im still super impressed with!)

I game in ultrawide 3440x1440 do you think I'd destroy most games with the 2070 super?

For the price difference I was honestly considering it as it's a lot less for not much less performance from what I could gather but I am no expert.

I'm interested in this topic too, I game at the same resolution and I still have my 980ti which I'm super impressed with as well.

Intel Core i5 7600kHowcome?

That cpu is starting to show its age in more modern games although at ultrawide it won't be as obvious but 1% fps and overall smoothness tend to take a greater hit with a slower cpu.

2070S is a good deal in comparison to the 2080, yet the 5700 XT isn't much slower for £100 less also.

What GPU are you currently running?

I'm quite happy with this cpu for now tbh, only few years old and it never seems to get fully utilised.

I am not that impressed with the current gpu's tbh. I might wait a bit more and stretch out this card. I am using a Gigabyte GTX 980 ti G1 Gaming.

It's been a great card albeit a bit loud sometimes and gets very hot. Which really annoys me lol. I have to stop playing when the weathers really good as my pc makes me too hot LOL.

I looked up my resolution and graphics cards and even the 2080ti doesn't pull off 60fps easily in some games which I think is shocking. I donno how people say they get 60fps in 4k with a 2080ti as I know even that card struggles with some titles in 4k nevermind my resolution.

It doesn't bother me too much though I usually just turn shadows down a bit and most my games run decent enough for me with my current card. I do want an upgrade but I don't think anything is worth upgrading too just yet, especially for value > money ratio.

I was ready to just buy the 2080 super but managed to convince myself not to and wait as I don't think it's gonna be worth the cost of the card.

Gonna wait for next batch I think. Hopefully some better cards come once the PS5 and next Xbox are out as they will need to push beyond consoles to make PC gaming even better

Ah nice, another 980ti user Which version of the card do you have btw? Mine is gigabyte gtx 980 ti g1 gaming.
I like to ask what temps other 980ti users get as mine gets stupidly hot. Usually hangs around 65 on a good cooler day but on days like today usually stuck on 70 - 82c which annoys the crap out of me lol.

Also, what's the most demanding game you play and what kinda FPS u getting? You say u still impressed with it overall so I imagine pretty good.
In that case I would hold out to be honest. 980 Ti is still very capable and 5800 XT willl be coming along a little later this year so you'll have a good choice between that and the 2080 Super or Ti depending on how they all perform and are priced relative to each other.

A 980 Ti is on average about similar performance to a GTX 1660 so I'd imagine performance numbers for that card would be somewhat representative of yours since most reviews don't publish performance numbers for 900 series cards nowadays.

I've got an Asus Strix 980ti. It's almost inaudible, even while gaming, so I've absolutely no complaints. And I'm still on a i5 2500K.

At the moment I'm mostly playing AC Odyssey and the frame rate is sort of around 45-50fps for general running around, and over 50 sometimes, and then very short dips in the 35-40 range. It's really pretty good.
And the GPU temp is 75-77 (I've never checked it before!).

Ah cool, phew! so similar to mine lol.
It's a really good card. It's the first time I ever spent so much on a GPU and my God it is worth it lol. It's lasted me ages and still going and to think if I never upgraded my resolution and just stayed at 1080p then it would still destroy everything (nearly)
