Looks like the 1060 3GB is finally back significantly below £200.

Perfect 1080p gaming gpu.

Deserves heat. Don't be put off by the 3GB instead of 6GB. If you only have a 1080p monitor, it really makes no difference (expect price and a great bang for buck!)

It does though with certain games - even if you take the 10% lower shaders into account over the 6GB version, there are games which show over a 10% difference in framerates. I remember when Digital Foundry tested it last year,in Rise of the Tombraider there were certain situations when a GTX970 4GB was having better minimums, and the 6GB version was much faster than a GTX970 4GB. Sure for Blizzard games it won't really matter as they don't use too much VRAM,but for newer and newer games I don't think I would want to be stuck for a few years with only 3GB of VRAM.

In the end people don't keep a graphics card for a few months, they keep them for a few years,so I would rather spend the extra on the 6GB version and they are starting to drop down in price now,so its better to wait for a deal on one of them if you can although YMMV. I would also expect a better resale value for the 6GB version over the 3GB.

Looks a great deal, heat added. Waiting on a good deal to pick up a 6GB version myself but this is decent!

ah, k

seems most ppl are charging 188 for their entry level 1060. coin miners must be anticipating the bubble bursting.
Took delivery of this 10 mins ago.

It's been opened and used FFS. Waiting on Amazon coming back to me.
I don't think I would buy a new 3GB card any more. 6-8 gb minimum.
I've got the 4gb 1050ti version of this, so would there been any real gains from upgrading to it?

Beg to differ, my 1060 6gb regularly goes above 3gb when gaming at 1080p. Still a good deal though

Requested and used VRAM are not the same, just because your machine has requested more than 3gb doesn't mean it is using it.
Can any one recommend a GPU that is both future proof and not north of £400. I am looking at the 1070's but from what I can see Bitcoin has made all GPU's well over priced? Any GPU's that are not favoured by miners and as such offer value

Look at benchmarks, for most games there is little to no difference going from 3GB to 6GB to 1080p.

Unless you are considering 1440p gaming I would stick with this card as it's good value.

Thanks, That is what I am thinking, but forums keep scaring me into a 1070! - Will this run ok on the new Z370 boards? Or do I hold off for Black Friday? Decisions decisions?
It’s an ok price but have seen this type of card go for similar price.

i would strongly recommend you shop around to get the 6gb version.

its not that much more

Have a look at the CPU Bench comparison between the two:

gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com…649

Never done a direct comparison myself, but the consensus seems to be an emphatic yes. Obviously it's caveated by what other bits you've got under the hood of your PC also.

ill be honest its not worth mining these days as you wont make much money better to buy the coins.

The z370 boards will not reduce the performance of this card.
I'll stick with my NVIDIA Voodoo 3dfx, thank you very much.
