Shader Model 5.0 adds support for indexed temporaries which can be quite useful for certain tasks.Regular direct temporary access is preferable is most cases. One reason is that indexed temporaries are hard to optimize. The shader optimizer may not be able to identify optimizations across indexed accesses that could otherwise have been detected. Furthermore, indexed temporaries tend to increase register pressure a lot. An ordinary shader that contains for instance a few dozen variables will seldom consume a few dozen temporaries in the end but is likely to be optimized down to a handful depending on what the shader does. This is because the shader optimizer can easily track all variables and reuse registers. This is typically not possible for indexed temporaries, thus the register pressure of the shader may increase dramatically. This could be detrimental to performance as it reduces the hardware's ability to hide latencies.

This is not a great price. Been as low as £186 on some models

OC (I guess their full name is banned from here because of spammers) are selling the 1gb version for £173.99 inc vat on their weekly deal thing, which is almost the same performance unless you're running resolutions higher than x1080. Good price-performance point.

And they have the best RMA, taken from the OC site:

Gigabyte - UK RMA Base - 3 Year Warranty. (Around 2 working days to sort out.)

KFA2 - UK RMA Base - 2 Year Warranty (Galaxy's Euro Brand - RMA Base used to be BFG's)

PNY - France RMA Base - 3 Year Warranty (Around 3 Working Days)

Zotac - UK Phone Number - 5 Year Warranty registered with Zotac, otherwise 2 year Warranty. (Not sure how long RMA takes.)

EVGA - Germany RMA Base - 10 Year Warranty Only on some models (SC and F.T.W), other models 2 year Warranty (Around 2 weeks - possible graphics upgrade)

MSI - Netherlands RMA Base - 2 Year Warranty (Read forum threads - around 10 to 14 days RMA.)

HIS - Hong Kong/China RMA Base - XFX - UK RMA Base - 2 Year Warranty -
(XFX only have lifetime warranty in the USA - they have a UK RMA base but their customer support is really poor having read various forums, stay away from them for sure)

was thinking of going for 6870 or 6850 as they are the best bank for buck from above diagram?? But now the prices are dropping I'll go for the 6950.
