Lowest price I have seen for a 'good' 1080. Gigabyte have a UK RMA centre, which means quick returns in the event of faults. In stock soon, so pre-order now.

GTX 1080 WINDFORCE OC. PCIE 3.0 / 8 GB GDDR5X 256bit 10,010GHz / 1797MHz / 2560 cuda cores / DVI+HDMI+3xDP

And yes, I know VEGA comes out tomorrow. But that will likely only be the highly price-gouged reference cards. Also, various benchmarks are reporting that VEGA performs about the same as a 1080 but uses way more power.

Not sure why expired, still showing that price for me
Why the hell is this cold. Good deal
This deal is doing well not to have a comment about a certain product being released tomorrow.......

That sounds suspiciously like what the "care in the community" lot said last year- and did AMD release anything *that* (regarding performance, purchase cost, and running costs) great? Releasing shite isnt what the market place needs. AMD needs to die and be replaced with a decent competitor. Nasty but true.

I have an Intel / Nvidia machine. I7 7700k and MSI gaming z 1080. I wish AMD would release decent stuff so that we didn't get ripped off. Unfortunately they seem to release dog egg year upon year which allows for complacency. Ryzen was half decent and has caused intel to pull its finger out with a coffee lake release but Vega looks to be a proper disappointment more than a year after nvidias releases.

And I voted hot. Although I'd like the prices to be lower. High end GPUs pricing has gone insane.

But vega will have 1080ti performance for the cost of a packet of crisps and only needs a 1kw psu
Getting cold because it's a dupe, and the original is less than a day old.
Same here want AMD to come and disrupt the Intel and nvidia monopoly.
But until then, and when AMD stops spending more on PR and spend more on R&D I doubt we will see any change.
The leaked benchmarks show the Vega to be around a 1070 to 1080 in gaming performance but is a around a 1080ti for mining.
However the pricing will still easily make the 1080 and 1080ti very attactive.

The AMD PR team has been pumping out it will cost the price of a 1060 perform as well as two 1080 titan xps in sli consume the power of a LED and also make you attractive to Angelina Jolie.

Hence the quick expiry.

I mention VEGA in my original post?
good deal, have some heat!

Although Vega release tomorrow, I don't see it being better than 1080, plus 1080 uses 2x less power

Ryzen has better £ per performance than equivalent priced Intel chips. Not sure what u r talking about.
We don't yet know about Vega yet. Let's wait to see tomorrow.

Intel (i7 7700k/6700k) is still king for gaming, which is what most of us care about. But intel i5 chips aren't so great now with Ryzen 1600 around, so it's nice to finally have some competition.

In light of the now released actual VEGA performance, this was an amazing deal.

I own the Vega and been using since release, its very capable. The main reason for Nvidia might be it runs quieter then the stock fans on Vega.
Otherwise they are reasonable parallels, some games do favour Nvidia and some AMD so do check about your favourites.

AMD has good driver updates and improvements to performance. Also its about Dx12 and Vulkan in game use. If the game is Dx11 an old standard then Nvidia is often focused on this
