Good Price for a GTX 1080ti right now. Not the best one, however it is the OC version with 3 fans to keep it cool.......

Which wined like a pig for the first 12 months whenever I ran a game in 2k or above but it calmed down and noise dampened performance cases are my thing. I only really care about low noise browsing and watching tv so didn't mind it when i was gaming etc.

980 ti just for browsing and watching tv? Let's make a deal. I will swap my extremely silent Asus 560ti ( which is ideal for what you need ) on that whined like a pig 980ti zotac extreme amp! ( which is ideal for my gaming needs ) and makes us happy each other. No worries. I will no ask you to pay me anything. Pure swap 1:1 :P

Great price
This card suffers from many reports of coil whine, looks ugly and has no back plate.
Is coil whine really a thing? If your pc has multiple fans etc can you really hear it over them? I have the gigabit aurus and loads complain about coil wine on that card but I've never heard a peep out of it!

the AMP is a better buy, a few pennies cheaper from aria, until p&p is added
Same exact card on amazon.fr for €699. Works out about £625 inc shipping. 2 week wait though.

The main reason for coil whine is very high fps, which you get with a monster card like this, particularly on menu/loading screens (hundreds to thousands of fps!). The easy fix is simply to set an FPS cap at the upper limit of your monitor refresh rate. Job done, worked wonders for my Gigabyte 1070, can also be done by enabling V Sync in Nvidia control panel if you have a G Sync monitor (not actually V sync, just sets the cap in these circumstances).

Nope pretty easy
it's not super straightforward but there are so many guides on youtube that you can be ready and hashing in as little as 5 minutes (using nicehash) or as much as 30 (using other miners that are more profitable, and coins that are more profitable)
The amount you make is up to you

Altcoins drop as quick as they climb. What matters is what you sell at. If you want less risk. Use profit switcher (not nicehash), realistic ROI is 6-7 months (not including your electricity bill). Most will tell you what coin to invest in, but unless you want to be a bit more risky, id say ether, litecoin or bitcoin. Pretty much all altcoins require holding, as if profit jumps, so does difficulty, so then you get less for your miner (Theres a small window in here where profits are high and difficulty low until everyone jumps on it and drives it up)

3 months roi here, too - after electricity. You're evidently not doing something right
Same here 3 months to roi a 6 card rig. Not bad. When I started it was looking likely to be 14 months.
It's £899.99 now, which proves that £688.98 was a very good deal.
Shame it’s no longer at this price... if you can get 1080ti under 700 it’s a steal.... still expensive but I blame crypto miners!

No it doesn't, it just shows that neither was a deal. The cyptocurrency bubble hasn't finished bursting just yet.
I'm sorry, but I am not buying those cryptocurrency blames. The top tier TI products always costed a fortune. If Nvidia wasn't happy with retail prices, it would have made more chips. Also, bigger demand leads to bigger batches and drop in price. So there is nothing to blame crypto miners for.

tier 1 nvidia products were never as much as they are currently
They are building the new series thats why is lack of gpu in the markets, they dont want to end up with pile of gpu in the depot, plus they need to seld those 1080 they didnt sold cause nvidia bring up 1080 ti too soon
