You mean Vega?

No he means Volta, Nvidia's new chip name.

My problem with the 1080ti is that the target market for the card is 4K gaming, for the most part it does that pretty well on DX11 titles, but throw it Watchdogs 2, ROTTR, TW Warhammer, Deus Ex or Wildlands and you're back in the 40-<60fps region, which if I'm paying £650-750 is a disappointing.

Of course you can make PQ compromises but you're basi back at 1440p for more demanding titles.

Seems about £100 below normal price, misprice maybe?

Tempted... But why do they have to take three slots nowadays :-(

You do realize that 4k is basically 4 times 1080p resolution. 1080ti is the fastest gpu you can buy today. You are more than welcome to buy any AMD card, but then you can expect around 5 fps at 4k

I wasn't convinced the oc on the aftermarket cards was worth the extra money, in the power: pound ratio. I got a 1080ti fe off eBay for £590 new, tho it's oem so no box and guff for resale. plus, Volta is a year from actual release and another year from the ti. if anything hold out for Vega actual release. didn't really apply to me as I'm using g sync.
there was also a pascal titan on eBay for near this price too, 2nd hand. pretty depressing for the titan buyers, dropping from £1200, tho I wouldn't have thought money is an issue in that demographic

but heat, very good price

I'm not slating the card, nor did I mention AMD. I'm stating the facts.

The Titan XP is actually the fastest GPU, FYI.

If zotacs top 1080ti was same price as this i wud grab it instantly, some games give a 15fps more with zotacs card

yes the amp extreme would be my choice too if it was economical, but what percentage increase in fps is that out of interest? I was generally seeing 5% benefit in fps over the fe, but generally at a 20% increase in price

amazon have price matched it if you prefer different vendor

Makes me wonder if vendors know something about Vega we don't since Volta has been moved up to 2017 and 1080Ti's are starting to come on sale

Facepalm indeed he did mean Vega hence the word compete

vega volta, it's a nice day go out and start living life for real instead of debating marketing strategies that just rip you off

There we have it folks, disregard all your hobbies and interests for one someone else approves of. Being ripped off is a pre-requisite for modern life whether it be by government or faceless corporations. Debating topics you're interested in doesn't mean you don't live a real life.

You see the irony in reading through the comments, then taking the time to post this advise.....right?

Lots of cold votes for this which is odd as it's dropped a lot and I can't find a cheaper one.

Nice card and good price. Heat.
