Good deal for mid level card. next best I could fine was CCL which is 209 and in most places RX 580 is going above this price. hopefully it will help someone.

I was lucky enough to get this when it was £110 at Overclockers during the anniversary sale earlier this year. It's a really solid card for 1080p gaming - although slightly overkill for Football Manager 2020, which is all I'm using it for right now.
Nice find, CCL on Ebay has RX 590 opened box (never used, why I don't know probably a lie) for £141:

The RTX2070 Super seems to be twice as fast, with a lot better bits and bobs graphics wise.
At 3x the price though, it's possibly a question of whether you want fancy bits such as particles, ray tracing, leaves falling off trees in a FPS etc I suppose.
Might be a stop gap until prices come down on the 2070 or it gets superceded a bit more than the 2080?

Hopefully that link works. There's quite a difference between the two cards. The 590 i think is a few years old now? But still a strong card. I've recently been looking at upgrading from a really old rx280 but I dont really do all that much PC gaming anymore so not sure its worth it for me.

I think this is a good price though (at least within the current situation we are in) and i think Amazon might have it in stock for Friday with free Prime delivery

The posts above mine all answer it very well. All I'd say is the numbers of gigabytes a graphics card has gives you no indication of its performance.

Gee, great response. Did you think of it all by yourself?

This is what I wantes to know. One might reasonably assume that the power of the card is dictated by the number of GBs but thats clearly not the case.

The amount of VRAM (i.e. the number of gigabytes) does affect performance, it's not a stupid question to ask what the difference is. It's just that it's not the only determinate of performance. In this case the 590 and 2070 (Super) aren't direct competition. A 590 is good for casual, light and moderate gaming. Despite having the same amount of VRAM the 2070 Super is a high end card capable of delivering excellent performance on demanding titles (and needs a high end setup to support it!).

Personally I'm holding out for a deal on a 2070 Super -- hopefully sub £300 later in the year. But it's horses for courses.

There is a significant difference in performance when the cards are running flat out but that's not reflected in the price difference because the 590 is better value for money. There are loads of videos on YouTube comparing these cards.

If you are considering buying a card then I think it's worth doing the research to find what's best for your particular requirements and hardware, for example if your best screen resolution was 1080p @ 60Hz then you'd get 60 FPS with good visual effects in most games whether using a 590 or 2070, however a 1440p 144Hz G-Sync gaming monitor would need a 2070 or better to get the 'best' use out of it (depending on the game, settings, system specs etc.
Got this when it was 110 previously but I wouldn't recommend it. It's loud and the cooler is the worst cooler I've ever seen on a graphics card. I've had plenty of BSOD too but since I undervolted it it seems to have calmed down.
Not sure why you're trying to compare a top end 1440p card to a budget 1080p high setting GPUs.

Difference is night and day.. rx590 should be compared to 1660
