Just imagine paying this much for a card. Jesus Christ.

Just imagine paying double for a 2080ti....

I had it on order from Amazon then decided to wait for the new cards to come out at better price. Am running a GTX680 atm.

Yeah that's true, I remember the 10 series cards like the 1080ti were hard to come buy because of miners

IIRC, the 1070 was the best bang for buck.
So there were no 1070 or 1080's on the market because they were the best two cards for this.
Surprised there weren't that many being flogged on eBay as 'refurbished' after it died down.

Gonna skip this gen to be shafted on the next lol. It's the Nvidia way. Hopefully AMD are going to force Nvidia to re-think their pricing.

Performance is relative to release time.
The 10 were better than the 9... Prices weren't massively more like these.

Been waiting too long for AMD to bring out the Nvidia Killer.

Have you seen how much the top cards are lol
best bang for buck is rtx 2070super or amd 5700xt
Cant see why you'd spend £620 on a card that doesn't perform in leaps and bounds above the 2070 super which is great for high hz 1080 p and 1440p. If you want 4K 60fps min you go 2080ti. unless you're after 240hz gaming at 1080p not sure where this card is in NVIDIAS extremely messy set up.
It's all about timing your buy. While the Super is a 'new' card, essentially this performance has been around for this price give or take with the standard 2080.

That would put me off. You're spending pretty much the same money as someone who bought a 2080 15 months ago and getting a tiny performance bump.

I would say within 6 months the equivalent cost of this level of performance will be no more than £400 with new cards. So you have to go in eyes open.
nvidia slightly screwed themselves with how powerful the 1080 TI was. they could've milked the performance for several more years!

The best card at the time for the price
Fk paying, I got an gigabyte rx 5700 xt for £380 (£320) after cashback and got free games.. The performance difference between both isn't even that big (less than 30%) but the price definitely is! This card can also do 4k but lower your expectations on new releases. I run 1800p custom resolution on some games and I still hit 60fps..Still looks Amazing

I think it was justifiable in the past when you were getting the Ti for around this price and it destroyed anything else on the market whilst offering great futureproofing (the 980 Ti and 1080 Ti aged very well anyway... the 780 Ti not so much). Paying this much for a small die card that barely outperforms the 1080 Ti, which didn't cost much more and was available almost three years ago, is the absurd part. Everybody should be praying that Big Navi does enough to bring Nvidia's pricing back to some sort of sanity.
Since the 2070 Super upped the game there's not a lot of sense in paying more for the marginal improvement of the 2080 Super a 50% uptick on the price for a 10 - 15% performance gain.

I doubt it, every card they have brought out recently has been around the same ballpark as the equivilent Nvidia card.
2020 should see Big Navi, which should bring some downward pressure.
Nvidia have been sat on the 30 series for a while hence I wouldnt invest in these.
Hang on till you see significant improvement and value for money.
Nvidia did one of the biggest gouges in history because they had no competition and have just charged what they can get away with, but many have paid for it.

We will also have what the new XBOX and PS5 offer to show whethr pc gaming is just way overpriced.
Shame AMD were able to pose thes same challenge to nvidia as it has to intel.
Competition is good and we need more of it.
You can moan all you like about pricing but that's just business. If you're ahead of your competitor you can charge whatever the hell you want because people will still buy them! Though that could change any time soon.

PC gaming will never be overpriced though.. It can do so much more than play games.. Consoles may come close in terms of graphics but they will always choose that over anything else (most developers will) 30 fps is enough to scrape by but its hardly a great experience..hopefully 60 fps is more common. The biggest reason I use my pc is for older games.. There's just so many and they are really cheap. College work here and there too. For pure gaming consoles are still great and I will definitely get the PS5 but if your really into gaming you will invest your time and money into a PC aswell as having the appropriate consoles 😁 I'm a Gamer after all

Exavtly this, I've seen no reason to upgrade and won't do anytime soon.

I already game on PC and console but next gen I'm stepping out of PC gaming and will jump to PS5 when my gaming rig starts getting old. The prices of high end stuff seems to be increasing more absurdly at every iteration. It has become a mugs game.

It a loosing battle as the PS5 will no doubt turn into a PS51.1 then 1.2 for example making you spend more cash just to keep up with the better version very similar to upgrading a PC.
The prices of these cards......I've never even considered a console, but if it doesn't shape up soon (and ideally if I could use a keyboard/mouse) I'll just get a console.

I tried a Xbox one recently and was amazed by the graphics on Modern Warfare for a console that costs sod all.

Depends on the game though, personally I struggle to go back to 30 fps after playing at 144hz for a while.. So smooth especially with freesync. I had an xbox one X before I upgraded my pc.. Still a great piece of kit.. Runs really quiet and powerful for the money. More than enough for the average person

I shot myself in the foot when I upgraded to an 32 inch 1440p 144hz freesync monitor, its simply amazing lol. Best gaming experience I have ever had.. Wish I just stuck with my consoles.. I would save so much in the longrun. Now I'll need to upgrade more often to keep up with the high hz and res

I think I have dodgy eyes. I bought the Alienware 34 widescreen, best fancy yoke I could...........and didn't really notice a difference from my 38 ultrawide 60fps screen it just looked smaller. Think my peepers are the lower budget model haha.

Because I bought a ryzen 3600 the other day from a seller with allot more feedback than 4 and it was a scam, they deleted their account the next morning, and yes you are protected but its not worth the hassle, the seller In question also has 2080ti's for £600 when they retail for minimum £900
