Men hating faux SJWs. Boycott Gillette.
Great post thanks OP ordered
This was guaranteed to go cold. It's typical. This is the best price I've found of late, and it has the advantage of being just the razors.

Don't be bitter, it's getting cold because cartridge blades are inherently expensive. It's a good price for a product that isn't good value in general. That runs against the ethos of this site for better or worse.

I'm not even a little bitter. It is what it is. I bought them and I liked the price. People can vote any way they want, and for whatever reason they want.
I’ve voted hot as seems a good price to me. Can I ask if any HKUDers have experienced fake blades sent from Amazon? The reviews are very variable

From experience I've suffered from a lot of fakes on amazon with cartridge blades before I moved to DE. Amazon often refund you without needing the item back but your face is still in ribbons.

I think I read somewhere they are one of the most counterfeited items due to the high mark up of Gillette's Mach cartridge blade lines.

How often does this happen with items sold by Amazon S.a.r.L.? I can imagine this is an issue even with third party sellers who are "fulfilled by Amazon" but I'd be surprised if there was a problem with counterfeit items sold directly by Amazon. I'll check my current order out when it arrives.

Is there any give away signs for a counterfeit razor?

Thanks for the tip.
I bought a load of ebay years ago that looked perfectly genuine but the amount of blood and skin torn off did make me wonder if they were fake - and how to tell.

What you'll find is that many people will vote on the price, regardless of whether it's a "good" deal or not, simply because the price is uttelry ludicrous, even when on offer.
Secondly, a lot of people (myself included), now boycott Gillette after their Superbowl ad which basically said that all men are violent, and are potential rapists. I'll never buy Gillette again, and judging by their sales, a lot of people (not just men) feel the same.

I don't buy Gillette or any cartridge anymore because of the insane about of plastic waste they cause. They consist of multiple types plastic making them costly and difficult to recycle and process. Gillette offer a recycling programme but it's nothing more than a token gesture as they are aware of the disaster mixed plastic and stainless steel cartridge blades are.

You can to ask for a envelope to be posted to you and then post the blades. Some argue this in and of itself is worse than just land filling them and a custom envelope for sharps has had to be made and specifically posted to you and then has to be returned to the processing centre.

I recall the ad, it was very controversial. I'm pleased for your boycotting despite our different reasons.
I'm blessed/cursed to not need to shave often so I have always used Gillette. What do you guys use instead?

Do you know of an alternative razor option? I mean one that is not much more expensive and can perform as well?

As for the advert, the only controversy was in the mind of a group of people who failed to understand it.

Controversy is defined as prolonged public disagreement or heated discussion.

Regardless of your or my opinion due to the Internet and media coverage and the subsequent reaction from netizens / general public I would argue that the ad was objectively controversial. The amount of discussion from people with differing opinions makes it controversial whether you like it or not.

I use a £16 Edwin Jagger with Astra blades but my spare is a 3 quid metal non brand and works just as well.

I may consider the move to a safety razor next time. I’d rather shift away from these cartridges, it is just being confident in the move.

Proper prep is essential, my friend realised he was having a hard time after he spoke to me about it because he was never taught. He didn't even use hot water prior to shaving so I had to show him. Lots of great DE videos on YouTube to help those new to it.

Thanks. I'll keep this in mind. I already take particular care, even with cartridges, but I'll have a look at some double edge videos on YouTube before I try.
The ones I got have numbers stamped on the underside, and the first one out performs well.
