Asda have slashed the price on the proglide blades for manual and power in both 4 and 8 packs.

Gillette Fusion ProGlide Blades 4 Pack - £5.97

Tesco £12.79 Boots £12.29 Sainsburys £12.00 Morrisons £11.99 Amazon £10.00

Gillette Fusion ProGlide Blades 8 Pack - £10.97

Tesco £22.90 Boots £21.69 Morrisons £21.00 Amazon £17.14

Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Blades 4 Pack - £7.97

Tesco £14.79 Boots £14.29 Sainsburys £13.50 Morrisons £13.50 Amazon £7.97

Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Blades 8 Pack - 12.97

Tesco £25.99 Boots £25.79 Morrisons £25.00 Amazon £19.99

This is a great price with no hoops to jump through as this is online and in-store. Picked them up in Hamilton tonight with proper labels on the shelf so not store specific.

Worth picking up a few if you like these blades.

Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Blades 4 Pack - £7.97

cheers got two packs from amazon

Are these proglide blades compatible with fusion power razor handle?

Original Poster

Yes, the proglide and the old fusion use the same type of cartridge and handle – so you can mix them either way. New ProGlide blades will work on standard Fusion handles. Old blades will also work on the new handle (if you’d prefer that for some odd reason)

Great price. Is there any discernible difference between the manual and power blades?

yeah power last less and it is more expensive.

Voted hot.

Why are these things so expensive? Are they really that hard to make?

I don't understand why nobody comes along and undercuts them, or why supermarkets etc can't make their own (decent) razors. It seems to be 4 blades for a tenner, or 12 disposable BIC razors for a quid that you're better off throwing away. Never found a middle ground.

Do they cut the biscuit or should I use bread knife

nice one ordered two as they so overpriced. I make mine last months lol

I wish mine lasted months I'm always clean shaven so don't last me long at all.
I always try to dry mine after use, people say they last a bit longer

I was about to say the same thing. I bought 100 blades for my DE two years ago and havnt needed to buy any more since. People need to wisen up to these cr@ppy razor manufacturers.

Ps didn't vote either way.

I think with these its the speed with which you can shave more than anything. its widely acknowledged that even the best with a de will not be quite as quick as a new safety razor.

I have used de razors and agree its a great save but it was always done taking time and care with great results.

at 7 in the morning when im getting ready for work and still half asleep I would rather use my Gillette thought. minimal if any Knicks and no real care required with only one pass of the razor getting a nice clean shave.

I go through a Fusion blade about every 5 to 6 weeks so 100 blades would last me 10 years.....

Run them backwards up your arm (or an old pair of jeans/bit of leather) to give them a clean every couple of uses. You'll notice the blades soon look like new.

As you say drying them after use also helps, but cleaning them is what makes the biggest difference.

Tried to reserve online but you have to spend £25 states "£25 minimum order for Click & Collect"

Non power ones available again at Amazon Subscribe&Save for £5.67

Good price. About time these were lower though...

looks like Amazon is matching price
Fusion ProGlide Power 8 Pack for £12.97 (even cheaper at £12.32 if you subscribe and save)
amazon.co.uk/Gil…tte

For some reason I bought just one packet of the 4 for £5.97 after figuring out that the 8 were 9p cheaper per blade.

The 8 packet looked older though as if they were a slightly different blade... and I assumed age was a sign of cr*pness... when, in reality, the older ones are probably better steel perhaps... I had cycled 10 miles there in the cold wind so my brain was not working properly. oO It might still not be working.

This was in the Gorseinon, Swansea, Asda.

Can someone link me the 8 pack on Amazon please?

I've tried looking for it on my phone but to no avail.

Found the below quote about shaving from Gillette on the Amazon site.

Women have a much larger area to shave and you may find that after only a few shaves, you blade has dulled considerably; increasing the likelihood of nicks and cuts.

What the heck are they shaving down there!? oO

Have a look here. Just read the reviews and you'll be convinced. I've never looked back since switching amazon.co.uk/Edw…8ZY

I bought one of the razor blade cleaners like this one from Amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Razorsharp-Razor-Blade-Sharpener-Cleaner/dp/B005BQ7Y98

Most people think their blades are blunt when in fact its only hair trapped in the blades. This device means that my blades last around a month each with daily use.

Thanks
