For people in these kind of situations, something little like this can make such a big difference when every thing that we take for granted is a daily struggle for them.

Great idea. Having to shave someone else can be daunting so anything to make it more comfortable and safe is an excellent idea

I have to post on here.

I've worked in community and residential care for the past 5 years.

If you order this product and use it on a service user who hasn't paid for it, then in essence your "gifting them something". This is against most care companies policies and procedures, and against CQC inspectors regulations.

Only if you "support" someone purchasing/getting this - would it make it acceptable. If you ordered it to your own address then brought it until work that is also not allowed.

Red tape gone mad. But that's the rules.

Whilst I am not disagreeing with what you have posted, the fact is...... The vast majority of Carers in this country are family and friends of the person receiving the care. Not carers employed by Care Agencies, LAs and Homes etc
So on that basis - WE (yes I am a carer) can make up our own set of rules.......
Since no one from NHS or Social Services will be coming round to check you are dotting all the Is and crossing all the Ts on their bureaucratic check list ..
Because THEY do not want to spend a penny of their money (OUR Taxes) doing the job up to THEIR RED-TAPE standards.
And since at best these Carers receive the grand sum of about £60 a week Carers allowance (works out at less than 40p an hour if you are a full time carer) then deals like this are a real boon.
At least you can Try for FREE before you decide to buy.

Sorry, I will step off my soap box now.

Thanks for the comments, yes please dont grab for just a freebie, only if you are giving care. many of those arent registered carers and are still doing this so go ahead! I hope they release more too.

ive applied for one of these to try for myself,a freebies a freebiie.

Hot deal for people with disabilities and elderly who want a simple razor (disabled or not but elderly)

In terms of carer's seriously, this is possibly dangerous as you have less manoeuvrability and thus more risk to cut the patient/person unless they are totally sedated or there is a Wilsksinson type safety wire guards on the single blade - the little black plastic things - seriously??? I do like the novelty of the shaving gel being in the handle but it is not easy for someone with poor dexterity to open and close.

This is however fantastic for those whom have had a stroke/TIA, physical hand disability like Dupuytrens, it will give those patients given the much thicker hand grip use the razor.
