Whilst I am not yet totally convinced about these, Halogen Cookers seem to have good press and good reports by users. They are more efficient and cheaper to run than conventional cookers and I decided to at least give them a try. So, much investigation on the net and at local stores and I couldn't better this 'Gino' brand from Robert Dyas.

Cheaper than Amazon and comlete with various bits that others charge extra for. e.g. Extender ring to increase total capacity is included whereas others want some £8 extra.

So we will give it a try and pricewise I believe this to be best currently on offer. If you do post a reply would be of interest to have your views on this type of cooker.

Looks like a good price and I used (a borrowed) JML equivilent for quite awhile after a house fire and thought it was absolutely fab and will buy one once Xmas is paid for... The JML one cleaned itself as well which was abonus!

I have one that I bought off Ideal World (cookshop).
I preferred that one as the lid was attached so didnt have to think about where to put it when checking/taking the food out, not sure if this is the same.
They are fantastic, I use this along with my induction hob more than I use my main oven

You get them at Netto for £29.99 frequently. We used one of those when we had no oven (redone the kitchen) and you can make almost anything small in it. It's fast too. However, since the kitchen was fimished it's resting in it's box because it takes up too much room on the counter
Oh yes, one more thing. Make sure it includes the extender ring shown in the picture because without you'll be very limited with your chicken size.
