The product itself hot yes, but the price isn't. Your voting on the deal, not rating the product.

They were £2 last week, and £1.50 in HMV before that.

No! He's voting how HE wants to vote. If that goes against your wishes then that's tough. I'm sick and tired of the 'Voting Police' on here TRYING to tell people how they have to vote. It's a free country, it's a free vote, people WILL vote how they please. If you don't like it get Admin to change the process.

Fine, but are you therefore saying if a product is overpriced and cheaper elsewhere, it is acceptable to vote hot as it's a good product? Isn't the purpose of the site "Hot UK Deals" supposed to identify hot prices (or good deals) of products and not to rate them?

I don't mean to cause offence or be controlling etc, so sorry for that. I just thought it seemed silly to vote and rate a deal based on it being a good product?

William, thank you for the manner in which you have responded and indeed I actually agree with your view that it is 'silly' that voting and rating of deals is based solely upon the product. I fully support the idea of members reporting 'hot deals' but, a deal is only hot if the product/service is good and the company supplying those product/services is reputable. People giving an opinion/review of deals posted here is, in my opinion, invaluable to the whole process. An example, someone may find a product at a 'hot' price (cheapest ANYWHERE). They post the deal here and members vote on that deal. Some members vote hot, some vote cold. Some however give a review of the company selling the product. The company (in their experience), has given poor service and so they have voted 'the cheapest price available for this product', COLD! And I would argue, that that is EXACTLY what we want to read/know. Comments/reviews are vital to give an over view of the deal as a whole (the product and the company selling the product). There will however always be those that vote HOT/COLD based on nothing. They simple choose to hit a particular button!

Thank you once again for your attitude to my comment william. Best wishes to you.

I'm glad we agree. It is very true, a hot deal is no use unless the product is good to begin with :P I hadn't thought of it like that.

Cheers man
