I noticed these shoes were on offer whilst shopping at Merlin and thought they were a good deal, £99 for a pair of carbon road shoes isn't bad.

Not just the yellow and black, there's also black/black and white/black in plenty of sizes as I write this.

EDIT: note the black/black and white/black are slightly more @ £112.99

Really, I wasn't aware of this boycott that started over a year ago, not really relevant on a UK website and it won't affect my purchases just because some two bit blogger from the US with 7000 followers says so.

Quote:

The worst-case scenario for the parent company is that they sell the disliked subsidiary to someone else who isn’t concerned about and won’t be affected by the negative press. In the end, that accomplishes little.”
Good find, although the white or black version are a bit dearer at £112.50
Still a good deal but black/black and white/black are £112.50. Only the yellow are £99.99

Yeah, sorry about that, a bit misleading but they're still cheaper at £112.99 than anywhere else. (Edited main post for clarity)

anyway I quite like the yellow

, no worries.
Can anyone recommend any mountain bike cycling shoes, around £40 to £70?
I'd like to buy/try some clipless pedals.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for the suggestion.
Are Velcro style fastening the worst type to get?
i.e. will they wear out over time and not fasten your foot into the shoe.

Would laces (tucked after) of the BOA system be better?

Velcro works fine, I had some Shimano SPD's for cummuting, they were velcro and they lasted for years with no issues, still work now but I made the change to SPD-SL's so they don't get used now.

Laces are in fashion at the moment due to nostalgia and the retro craze, but I'm not sold on them really, I much prefer the Boa dials which I have on my Mavic's. Boa's are the best IMHO but they don't come cheap, defineatley not in your budget range £50-70.

Legislation is the way to stop gun crime, not boycotting a single brand as even if they pull out of that market you haven’t stopped demand. Legislation, legislation, legislation.
On another note can anyone comment on the fit? I have wide feet

Downturn in smoking......legislation
Plastic bag waste......legislation
Housing stock improvements.......legislation
Drink driving.....legislation
Seat belts....legislation
Corporal punishment......legislation
Minimum wage....legislation

Without it we would all still be smoking in pubs, driving home drunk and whacking our kids. Anyway are the shoes wide or narrow?
