Glary Utilities Pro 5 'forever' licence giveaway - first time this deal posted on HUKD

46
Found 16th Jan
Get it free - forever! - with licence 3788-61679-58234-2362 & my compliments.

I stumbled across this code & thought I would share it with my HUKD friends

In my opinion one of the best utilities for regular Windows users.

Glarysoft's Glary Utilities is one of the most consistently popular and most frequently recommended system utilities, and why not? It bundles some of the most useful Windows-related tools in one free download. It scans and cleans your PC, cleaning temporary files, removing junk files, fixing broken shortcuts, and resolving a wide range of issues, both major and minor, that most Windows users will have no trouble recognizing. Credit roycom this find. You can configure its One-Click Maintenance option to run just those processes you want with a single click, making regular maintenance just too easy for excuses. You can run any of its many tools individually, too.

My link will give you the download for a 30-day trial version. Now toggle to 'Manage license' and refresh to paste over my special free code. If you go back to it, the licence expiration date will have changed to 'never'.

Nice one it worked

Where did the "special" code come from?

Glary Utilities is ok but for certain parts of it you really need to know what you are doing.

******* THANKS ROYCOM for giving the original heads up on this! *******

St Patrick's Day

Hmm, the code will be banned/blocked in no time. Cold.

The code was actually issued as a freebie in 2013 from EaseUs so it's not really "your special code" - you can also register the license with the name EaseUS Users

Think I got sick this of when had my laptop, but hopefully it will be useful to some.

Huh? It came from St Patrick's Day?

More useless utilities junk with which to wreck your Windows configuration.

Are some people dim enough to be taken in by software companies that bundle unwanted software with their "utility" programmes?
No brainer in my book!

Technically not your link though is it?

It's maybe a touch gray but is a legit license from a legit giveaway page that never expires.

As has already been mentioned in this thread, it would have been a simple curtesy to credit roycom with finding the licence key from the internet archive rather than claiming it was "your" special code.

As has been mentioned, these bundled packages can often do more harm than good. I'll stick to ccleaner and common sense.

In a way, you are correct: this is a powerful tool and 'IT numpties' should probably steer clear - if they are tempted to click away not really knowing what they're doing, they can tell the program to do stuff that is not what they wanted.

However, Glary makes it extremely simple to do 1 click maintenance and other basic system checks & optimisations.

If you are not a numpty but just an average Windows user, you will find it straightforward to get a lot of benefits.

Looks like you get forced items that are not optional. First a sneaky 'malware hunter' tick box on the agreement page, then this:

Ha, so you snuck the 'credit' into the middle of a copied block of text that most people won't read fully, whereas below you start off your first comment with 'My link...' followed by "my special free code"

Oh, and let's not forget from the post you got this from: hotukdeals.com/fre…461

X)

Telling people to keep it on the down low and then posting a thread about it stating it's his deal. hilarious stuff.

http://i66.tinypic.com/6rhl5v.jpg

The OP looks like a full on narc judging from previous posts and deals:

"I've found this" "I've done this for you" styled comments are frequent, if the deal is not doing so well, the user often lashes out, even if other users substantiate the reason for cold voting.

This extract from a previous deal sums up the OP quite well IMO:

For what it matters, I've voted cold, voted hot on the original deal. Change your attitude OP and the world will be a much nicer place.

The first year, the app worked flawlessly, but over a month ago, after a Windows Update, the Registry Repair function keeps "freezing up" on the same file on two separate computers. I've been emailing the company and been only getting a canned response. I would not recommend purchasing this product. If you can get the "free" version to work, well and good, but don't spend your money.

But if you're not a numpty, then invariably you'd not need a "1 click solution".

It gets pretty good reviews on donwload.cnet but also a few referencing none existent support

Each to their own but for me, I'll stick to the windows utilities and ccleaner. Safe, quick and easy.

Why is everybody shooting a guy down for a free unlimited code to a piece of software? It wasn't posted as a deal originally, and he credited the source?

The only person who should be angry is the person that commented the code, and he should be angry at himself for not posting it first. If I find a code, I don't post it because dealing with the comments just isn't worth it. Heat added, I didn't know about this and for those that shot him down for it not working, IT STILL WORKS.

I'm really repeating myself unnecessarily, but because:
1) His 'credit' was hidden in a block of copied text about the software - i.e. deliberately obscured.
2) He referred to it as "my special free code" in his first comment
3) He said in a previous thread for others to "let's keep this under the radar vote cold" before posting it himself.

He then goes on to ignore these points, responding only to a complimentary post, saying he gave "full credit" for his deliberately obscured credit.

you deny reality, of course I gave roycom credit, it's in the header - 99.9% of people would not have seen his obscure comment a month ago, what's your beef, Mr Jealous?

http://i.imgur.com/ON1AfMv.gif

I'm describing exactly what you did, putting 'credit' in the middle of some copy and pasted text, and what you wrote to describe it as your own. Doing that, then denying it, and posting a stupid GIF is just truly pathetic.

It's very odd to be accused of "denying reality" for the act of factually describing what you did.

I gave roycom full credit - t's there in the header - in yer face! - what don't you get?

you seem to ignore the fact that I have brought this new deal I found to the attention of the wider HUKD readership after it languished unread in some footnote for a month

anybody can re-post a deal after a month in any case

this deal was posted here for the first time by me, moi, myself!

feel free to copy me & post it again next month

I'm really not sure who you're trying to persuade with your nonsense.

roycom was only later given credit but hey, if it isn't a problem why not give the credit before the C&Pd text?

Still, as you say, anyone can repost after a month. ...

.....oops just remember, as pointed out in the OP, that this is a "glitch so be quick".

Of course - doesn't make sense now that the OP has been edited once again for the er, um, erm, nope - lost count of how many times now.

For viewers who have just joined us, we apologise for the disjointed nonsensical manner in which this thread has developed which we put down to a technical term out of our control known as "chopping and changing".
