This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

It may not be to everyone's tastes, but a 25 year old single malt is worth a try at under £40!

I looked for this in store earlier this afternoon, but couldn't find it (despite their Christmas catalogue saying it was available).

It's now available though via their website, and can be bought as a single bottle (i.e., no need to purchase 6 spirits and / or wines) with free delivery!

I remember this tasting somewhat like Blackcurrant , wouldn't be my first choice but a decent bottle at a great price.
Anyone know when the fabled mystery case will be available this year?

When did you try this...from what I can tell, it's only just being released now?
Bought the 28yr old 3yrs ago and that was lovely (still have one bottle unopened), then the 29 the following year was not a patch on it. Didn't try last year's 30 though. Fingers crossed the 25 will be up to scratch - can't complain yet though at about 1/3 of the price of Glenfarclas 25 even (although shame it's bottled at 40% again rather than the 43.4% I think the 28 was bottled at)

This isn't available in stores yet and Aldi staff are completely in the dark over when their Xmas spirits range will actually hit stores, so it's gonna be a total lottery as to whether you will be able to pick this up as it will no doubt sell out very fast. On the plus side the bottlings of the last two years have not been particularly earth shattering, so it will probably not be a huge tragedy if you do miss out.

Don't bank on it selling out fast. Picked up last years offerring for £16 (down from £49.99) in January. Loads left at my local branch.
It is in stores here in York.
Bought 4 bottles of the 1988 last year at £16 quid clearance...still got 3 left...

Same as me, the 28 was unbelievably good!
This doesn't sell out, the methuselah prosecco does however and that is available now, the price is up to 99.99
Got 3 bottles of the 30 yr old last January for £15.99 each. It was lovely. Roll on January 2020
Bought a few of these old whiskys over the years, they're hit and miss, but certainly well worth it for the price. I think one year they did a stupid deal where supply was dead limited, I want to say 50 yo for 50 quid or something. But these are ever in greater supply or just not as popular. I certainly have bought them reduced.

Was it any good? Got an unopened bottle.

It was alright, nothing spectacular, typically speyside.
born that year so nice to have!
Just ordered! Heat!
Looking to buy the 40 year port also but in store only, just not mine yet!

Always worth a punt at that age for £40. Their 28 yr old was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed the 26 yr old Irish whiskey from a couple years ago too. Agree the last couple have been average but even so £40 doesn't get you much in the single malt world so always worth a bash, and if it's average then palm it off to visitors rather than handing out the good stuff after dinner!
Got 2
Does anyone know/guess what distillery this is from?
I read somewhere that this 25yr was only available in the Scottish stores - has anyone found one in store elsewhere? Might be online only otherwise.

I also picked up a couple of the 1988 last year for £15.99 - it was only impressive for the age, otherwise a very average whisky.

Suggestions it may be Glendronach (can't see it) Glen Moray or Dalmore. Heard Dalmore mentioned a few times.
You got lucky, I tried 3 local ones and were all sold out first morning of sale

My Mate invited me to a whisky tasting About 3 weeks ago in Birmingham, this was featured among them.
Has anyone tried it yet?

I found a bottle in Cheltenham earlier this evening. There were only 2-3 on the shelf and one is now in my kitchen yet to be opened... :-)

Only two bottles left at my local Aldi already. It's always sold out fast near me, never got a sniff of that £16 offer because I've never seen the bottles on the shelf beyond the first week of sale. Not sure if my local will get more in as the full Xmas spirits range eventually hit the shelves (only the Glen Marnoch, Irish Reserve, and Horseshoe at the moment).
Sold out online already!
Just bought one of these, have for the last 4 years, not on the shelf yet in my locla store, but staff got one from the back.
Bottle got delivered today. Nice dram - not as good as the 28 from 3yrs ago, but way better than the 29. Definitely worth it for £39.99.
Anyone know if and when Lidl will release their Xmas offering for a 21+ year whisky at low costs this year?
Got one today there were two left on the shelf a 25 year old single malt for £40 bargain
They have 3 bottles of these in Portsmouth store for anyone near by.
