Glen Moray single malt - £18.00 @ Asda

Found 22nd Oct 2016
Glen Moray speyside whisky.

£18 for a single malt isn't bad compared to some of the price on better blended whiskies. It's a pretty good starter malt if you want to get into them without spending a ton.

Tasting notes:

A Glen Moray Elgin Classic, slowly matured in traditional oak casks. Elgin Classic <>. Glen Moray Master Distiller Colour: Light gold. Nose: At full strength, the aroma is fragrant and lightly drying with warming malty notes. The first impression is of butterscotch and shortbread with fresh herbal / grassy notes. Lemon curd and meringue are discovered in the background. Taste: The mouthfeel is lightly spiced with a warming and gently mouth watering effect. Malty toffee sweetness is present throughout with blackcurrants and a fragrant citrus lemongrass tang. Finish: Shortbread, fresh herbal notes (lemongrass) and the sweet spiciness of ginger marmalade.

Nice smooth whisky.

Thank you, that is cheap for a smooth single malt.

Nice one...just been to their distillery, excellent tour. This price is very cheap fir a single !!

It's only 7 years old and tastes it, quite rough and chemically. Pay a few £ more for an Aberlour/Glenmorangie.
