Right I know this deal isn’t going to appeal to all but for those who do like a good single malt this is a good price for £39. A nice port barrel makes this so smooth. One of my favourites. Thought it might help someone out.

Quinta Ruban is Glenmorangie’s port finish. To craft this single malt they specially selected Port pipes from the Douro valley in Portugal.
Full of winter berries and a touch of port. A good oak and a little cereal hanging in the substratum.
Long and fruity and quite sweet finish.

Good price and it's the same at Ocado for anyone who prefers them.
This is one of the best Glenmorangie editions IMO, and best bang for the buck if you're looking for something special from a highland single-malt.
Love this stuff. One of the best whiskies I've had. I wouldn't feel hard done by if I paid £100. Can tell how well it's thought of as it was £25 quite often in Morrison's when relased and then doubled in price once the critics weighed in. Same thing happened to the 21 yr old pulteney

Glenfarclas 105 is a nice Xmas drink too, will see if that is on offer anywhere
Highland park 12 is 25 quid at morrisons, better dram imo. Good price regardless

Really, one of the worst single malts I've had ! Highland park is way overrated to my pallet, £25 is too much in my eyes. Each to their own.

Thats the beauty of whiskey
Taste is subjective, i love highland park, and most honey fronted whiskeys. I also love monkey shoulder for the same reason. Although its blended
Another favourite of mine in the sherry cask style is Balvenie Doublewood:

All whiskeys are sharp, tasteless liquids besides for the laphroaigs (besides for the select which is pale). Only one I'll let past my lips .

Yes Laphroaig is also my favourite. Standard Glenmoranigie is OK, never tried this one.
If I am after a non peaty, as someone mentions above, Monkey Shoulder is very good albeit blended.
Just getting to the bottom of a Highland Park 12- decent enough but not at Laphroaig levels.
I keep trying different ones but never get any that matches Laphroaig and I maybe have bought a dozen or more the last year.
Thanks......my dad is coming up for a big birthday and he loves both whisky and wine from the Douro so this will make for a perfect gift. No idea how but I also had a £10 gift certificate in my account making it £29. Thanks again op.

Does anyone know how this compares to Glenmorangie PX Sonnalta? I'd like another bottle of that, but it's too expensive to replace when finished, so wondering if this is similar?

Try the caol Ila cask strength or ardbeg uigeadail, the ardbeg in particular is fantastic, and of course the standard 14yr lagavulin is damn good too.

Not tried that one, some rate it very highly, some aren't keen at all for the money, but this is only £40 and very well reviewed.

Was making a dramatic point . Love call Ila and ardberg but only had the lagavullin 16 yr which is amazing but expensive when I pay £25 in costco for my qc
Just ordered. Lovely dram and reasonably hard to get hold of so will worth the price.

Would love to give that a try myself. Single bottle currently for sale on Amazon at £550

Maybe the most similar will be Glenmorangie Duthac. It's more difficult to get hold of, but is also finished in PX casks.

They go for around £200 or so at auction, so worth going that route if you want one. It's still too much for me to spend when I could have 3-4 other decent bottles for the same price (or 1 and around £150!).

The price is just a factor of the scarcity plus having a few fans who create a fair level of demand, as it's a tasty tipple!
is this really hard to get hold of? I bought a bottle for around £23 in duty free about 10 years ago. Great taste, always thought it was a blend!
And then not seen it around in the shops...
There is a strange snobbishness with Whisky "Malt is good, blend is bad" amongst some people Its all subjective. If you like it, go for it, if you don't, well don't. We all have different tastes, and budgets. I love a single Malt, but I also like Stewarts Cream of the Barley, amongst others. If it fits your palate, and your budget, just enjoy it.
