Now I know this deal will not be for everyone, £195 for a knife set is much more expensive than most people will pay, but these are generally regarded as the best kitchen knives available.

Very good reviews on the Internet, 5star reviews on amazon. I haven't received it yet, so cannot comment directly. I have used a small global knife previously and it was so much sharper than supermarket knifes.

The supplier wheesh.com are in fact selling these on amazon for £285.99, and I cannot find hem cheaper than this deal direct from their website. Hoping they will deliver it and it is not a misprice.

This is my first deal, so hope it helps someone.

I am on my iPad and don't know how to add a picture from here, I will try and add it tonight when back on my PC.

Very good knives, worth the price.
I built up a collection of these over several years due to the cost. They are beautifully sharp knives and are a pleasure to use. Definitly recommended.
I think I'll stick with my Jean-Patrique ones ....

(actually they're Global but that is not as much fun to post)

Good price - I have a set of these and they are fantastic. If you buy one, just make sure you get the correct knife sharpener. I bought a Global whetstone (which cost around £50) but I found it too much of a faff to use. In the end I got rid and bought a device called 'AnySharp Global World's Best Knife Sharpener' which was about £10 and it's superb and takes about 20 secs to sharpen the knife and not 15 mins when using the stone.
Bargain.....whoops wrong thread.
can you put globals in the for sale trade section? I have some spare see, brand new aswell.

I winced at that oO . I have one of those sharpeners that I use on my cheap stuff, wouldn't dream of using it on a knife as good as the Global. Despite the name there is no connection between the brands. That sharpener leaves a trail of metal swath behind, effectively resetting the edge, really not something I would chose to do with a quality knife.

So you're telling us to get the correct knife sharpener for expensive knives yet you recommend a cheap sharpener and say the perfect thing for the job is a faff to use?

genius.
Wow You people have too much money!!! I've bought my cheap knives about 6 years ago and they are still fine. Suggestion: Get yourself much cheaper knives and give the rest of money to some charity to people who really need it.
thats a good price for global knives, never heard of the company before, trustworthy ?

I think they are on the level - they did an electoral roll check to make sure I was over 18 as I was buying knives, I wouldn't have thought less scrupulous retailers would bother with the hassle

Just a quick update, I ordered these on Sunday night, got an email on Monday saying they are approved for dispatch, and delivered on Tuesday. They seem a reputable company, it looks like they advertise in most of the major foody magazines based on the special offers web page.

The knives are brilliant, a quick test last night was effortless. Waiting for the new kitchen to go in before using them fully though. I like the knife block, the black area is made out of some soft rubber material, rather than hard plastic, but probably more difficult to clean.

Now you get the hard bit, how to sharpen them ! Take a tip, its all about technique, the best sharpening stone in the world can't help you there. Some very good you tube videos out there.
I contacted Global UK as this deal appeared too good to be true. They confirmed that they are legit. They were shocked at the price, shoiuld be 249 so have just ordered!!
