First ever deal . I think this is a great one as these knives can sell individually for £90 . Don't think they will be around for long at this price . Use code listed with the item to get the price . Also don't forget tcb

Can these still not be sold on eBay ?

great price. we paid over 200 for these a few years ago and they are still going strong. yes they are expensive for knives but they are extremely sharp and make slicing a doddle.

Brilliant set. That's a good deal.
But when I voted hot it went cold. Go figure.

Wow that's a great price for very nice knives
In fact it's worth clearing the entire stock at £140

Expesnive for knives!?
Trust me, this much for knives is nothing. Check how much pro chefs and slaughterhouses spend on a single knife.
The thing is with more expensive knives they do actually last. The better ones will last a lifetime.

bought a Taylor's eye witness set and I slice tomatoes in the air,24£ only at H Sense, with the difference I intend to book a holiday...

We did too, def recommended! I use one of these to sharpen them every so often MinoSharp Knife Sharpener

Are they really NOT dishwasher safe?

A very good price, but I personally rate Robert Welch knives over Global. I have both - I did the marketing for Global when they first tried to break the UK in a big way, so I have a full set, 25+ years old and still going strong (although prone to slight corrosion along the neck). But I always reach for my Robert Welch because of their superb balance.

One problem with buying a set like this is that you can end up with maybe two knives you use all the time, and three that you hardly ever need. IMO better to buy the individual knives you actually need, one at a time, and build up a set that you use and appreciate. They often turn up cheap on Amazon.

And NEVER put good knives in the dishwasher!

Does that actually sharpen it? As some state it does but it actually slightly trims it which the knife would get smaller and smaller.

Purchased, thanks OP

Nah, certainly no noticeable trimming after about 15 uses, I wouldn't worry about that.

Code not working for me

I wouldn't touch that, the reviews have clearly been skewed by the supplier of those stores and voted up/down by them too.

Global have well and truly broken into the UK market so you must have done a decent job. What did you do by the way? Can you elaborate on here

I also have a set of Taylor Eye Witness (or whatever they're called!), and they cost me about £20, had them a year, no complaints so far. Seems extortionate to spend this amount on one household item to me in my opinion!

I'm sure people said that about type writers.

Purchased. Thanks OP. Heat.

don't use crappy sharpeners on knives of this quality. use a double graded whetstone and a ceramic steel to hone your edge.

You can then use a leather strop too if you want to go mega razor sharp.

These aren't knives for the casual home cook. These will last you years longer than any Taylor's Eye Witness set, but they're meant to be well looked after. cheaper knives are more or less disposable so you can use any **** sharpener off Amazon or eBay...

This is amazing value, glad I got in before they sold out

Those in the know (including professional chefs) will already know this, but for those who don't, Victorinox (the Swiss Army Knife people) make a range of extraordinarily good kitchen knives (such as these at £4.99: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Victorinox-5-0833-Tomato-Knife-11cm/dp/B0002HPHQS) which are a fraction of the price of Global but do the job every bit as well.

Not widely known outside the trade, and expensive kitchen shops will never tell you, but there's a lot of money to be saved here - serious money!

still in stock? Great price, real bargain

One of the knives is a G55, with an rrp of £149.00 alone (although commonly reduced to around £95.00.

It is a lot of money for s set of knives, but a huge saving as well. Anyone who thinks this deal is cold should return to their home planet forthwith.

It's strange how some of the best deals on this site get little heat. If this were Tesco in-store only it would be through the roof!

Hot!

As much as I love a bargain, spending £150 on knives is a bit too much for even me

Thanks, ordered one

amazing knives if you know what your looking at. I would say though if your planning on using these a lot they do go blunt quickly but that's probably because they are so sharp ! trust me I almost lost my thumb in one !!! luckily just left with a scar. hot for the price.

Yeah I got told this several years ago and they do a great job for a home cook.

Good price for global knives, for decent knife's on at a lower price bracket I would recommend Richardson knives, got a set for £30, they feel very good in the hand and seam very well made.

You can add it to your basket but checkout claims out of stock. Shame I've been waiting for another deal like this.
