Did you buy this?
And band 20, shock horror.
I had a mia1 from eternal team. 3weeks to the UK. Packaging was great and no import tax. Add to the the phone is awesome. Low level light photography is a bit poor but other than that can't complain

No i prefer MIUI to Android i got Mi6 and redmi note 3
Good phone. Voted hot
For anyone thinking that the rose gold colour may be a step too far, I bought my dad a redmi in rose gold due to him being cheapskate and not bothered by colour. It's actually really nice! Prefer it to my mum's silver redmi... Doesn't look like the pics at all for that colour.
Flipping miraculous price for an excellent phone. Mi A2 must be just round the corner! Heat added.

Even though it is full of "Chinese rubbish".

Oh no! My mistake that was yesterdays opinion. The wind has changed since then.

This one is Android One . Not MIUI or TIUI or similar Chinese ROM.

Xiaomi has the excellent pure android experience as the google pixel and both are surprisingly equal performance wise in general day to day tasks.
But warranty is an issue. If you get Honor it will have a okish software experience but any issues John Lewis can sort it out.

So choose what you prefer. Personally i would go for anything from John Lewis just for the piece of mind and support.

Your choice may depend on which smartphone you have at the moment.
What is the camera like on these? Tried a couple of Chinese phones in the past and both have had pretty terrible cameras.

In low light not so good. Xiaomi ran a photography competition #ShotOnMiA1

when I posted this link a few weeks back someone said they were fake. I guess some maybe, not sure if the photos metadata can be modified. Lot of pictures to fake.

Went for the 64Gb version from EGC yesterday for my neighbour for only £11 more than this (after a St Patrick's Day offer discount). Will arrive in 6-8 days apparently. My first ever purchase of a Chinese-sourced phone & from EGC, so hoping everything will be fine.

Have a look on Instagram. There are plenty of accounts that are all shot on xiaomi phones.

Great price but I want the red one...

I bought the red one in January.
It can sometimes look a tad pinkish at some angles but it is a very nice red colour.

Do you mean this one: Global Version Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus 3GB 32GB Mobile Phones 18:9 Full Screen Display Snapdragon 625 Octa Core 4000mAh MIUI 9.2 - £116.66 @ aliexpress

Could depend on your needs - side-by-side comparison here: gsmarena.com/com…959

I went for this (the A1) for my neighbour as it's arguably more update-friendly (gets updates directly from Google), has pure Android, plus the presence of the dual-rear cameras, Type-C charging port & better Wi-Fi spec. On the other hand, the 5 Plus has the more modern looks & screen aspect ratio, larger screen & longer battery life.

A2 sounds awesome
Will it be A2 though, as A1 must surely stand for androidOne.

Mi2 A1, it gets complicated! Xiaomi naming convention is not the easiest to understand.

While trying to purchase this phone , AliExpress asks you to log in and then the price increases. I did not buy it as it was showing increased price after logging in. But got a call from my card provider they blocked the AliExpress transaction. So now totally scared of AliExpress .

Why would your card provider contact you if as you say you did not buy it as it was showing increased price after logging in so obviously did not hit the pay button. So how would they now you tried to buy i would be concerned about the call from your card provider could be scam caller
