Fab price for the 128GB, surprised this has not received more comments yet (screen, supplier, NFC)! :/
Excellent price
Hearing so much about this phone, and spec looks great

Hard to say, rn8 pro has in general much more powerful hardware, better display resolution and microsd slot, whereas the mi a3 has an amoled screen and almost plain android os experience. All depends on what you need and what you like, i went for the rn8 pro but tbh, if you don't play games on your phone you are going to be happy with every single mid range xiaomi from rn5 onwards.

Xiaomi deserves huge credit for what they have done for us, budget oriented customers, i don't think we would see such good phones at so affordable price levels otherwise. I have managed to convert few friends who were Apple dedicated followers , after experience with Xiaomi none of them perceive £1000 phone a reasonable offer. Sure, iPhone x is a better phone than this but not few times better as the price tag would suggest.

How good is this for gaming when compare to its rivals like realme 5 pro and redmi note 8 pro.

What your view with the 2 phones mentioned here for gaming, I'm wanting it for call of duty, and watching Netflix, always like to hear people different opinions. And who have some experience with the phones in question.

all very subjective but for games rn8 pro and no doubt about it, much faster chip, for movies mi a3 due to amoled's contrast ratio. btw i haven't had mi a3 for direct comparison, only mi 9 se which is a bit higher end phone.

Did you experience any issues with yours?

No,the screens good considering the fuss about the lack of pixels,I have the white version, it looks great, pure Android and so there's not much adaptation if you like the miui stuff like the themes, you can't log into a mi account, but it will save stuff, worth £120 any day of the week.
Just a little word of warning for people debating if you might get caught with the whole duty thing but, I'm not sure if the uk are cracking down over Christmas or I just got unlucky but I purchased something from AliExpress for £15.60 3 weeks ago and have been stung with £12 import duty and fees.
It was a standard buy from China with the usual standard post.
Like I said could just be me being unlucky but you never know so just be prepared if it does happen to you.
Just got a white one from AliExpress.Took some 14 days, no import duty. Cracking phone
I don't see it for this price.

It always feels like a harder hit if it happens on a item around the £15 mark.
Thanks MrSwitch, bought one for the wife, fingers crossed i dont get hit for the duty.

That it does. I went to pick it up today and spoke to a postie there. He told me that hmrc, royal mail and such are cracking down on it as they use Europe as there through point before the parcels reach the uk.

Did you get extra charges ?
shug11929/11/2019 15:12

Did you get extra charges ?

I did for something else I ordered from AliExpress. £12 charges (£8 royal mail + 4 vat) on a £16 item. I might have just been unlucky but id rather people know there's a chance they could get stung to
Anyone actually find this for these prices on either store?

Showing much more, on both stores for me!

got my Mi A1 from Ali Express 2 years ago and got custom charges. Just cause there's a discussion here, thought I'd pitch in whilst I was here!

Well the post is expired which Probably gives you an indication the deal isn't available anymore
My order is due for delivery this tuesday comming, my order date was 29/11/2019, I have been hit with a customs fee of £6.89 and a royal mail handling fee of £8.00. So in total this phone has cost me £131.89, Iam still fairly happy with the overall cost, but slightly peed off at the nearly 2 month delivery time.

Yeah, always a risk of both a long wait and customs, but if you're happy then thats all that matters, plus you have yourself and excellent phone for £130.

Update:
Well the package did arrive as expected but there was no phone in the box, the parcel had been opened and taped back up, there was no seal on the actual box and no god damn phone in the box.
I opened a dispute with AliExpress and got a reply from Xiaomi asking if i would close the dispute with AE and to give them a chance to fix my problem. I am still waiting on a resolution from Xiaomi but due to Chineese holidays i am willing to give them more time.
I payed with cc via pp so i am safe in getting a refund if needed.
Edited by: "edinburger1874" 3rd Feb
My theory is it was nicked while it spent 14 days at customs, i had other orders fron AE at the same time and they went through customs in 1 day.

IN future don't use credit card through PayPal, use one or the other. You will find they will say it's the other reponsibility
