Check the returns procedure in advance of placing an order. Do not proceed if you disagree with the terms.

Don't buy if you aren't prepared to pay a possible customs charge, pay with credit card, expect long waits sometimes, but decent service in general from aliexpress

Nice find although nfc is a minimum requirement for me these days. Remember when a minimum requirement for me was Bluetooth
I bought this phone 2 weeks ago off eglobal for £140. It's a brilliant phone for the money. You will never get a phone anywhere near the spec for the money in the uk

I ususlly get my mum a new phone for christmas every 2 or 3 years - i have gone for a Moto GX (add relevant number for the year!) since the first moto G came out. She is not very tech orientated and so i used the the Moto UI - basically stock android -

firstly would this be a decent upgrade over the moto G6 (i think that is what she has currently) and secondly would the UI be easy for her to get used to?
Thanks

The UI in this and moto are virtually the same, this is android one and is close to stock as you csn get, as are moto phones.

I'd say this was an upgrade, mainly for camera and battery
Can anyone please share your experience ordering from Gearbest or Aliexpress and paid customs fees? If so... how much did you pay for customs fees?

You won't be stung for Customs Duty as below £136 (Ref: GOV website)

You might be stung for VAT (20%) + any admin charged by the courier/delivery company. E.g. FedEx = £12

So as 20% to your purchase and add £12 = worst case cost scenario. So 64gb would be around £142ish

Hope this helps.

Thank for the details....
Ooh... now I am more confused
Is there anyway to find out if I will be charged that extra dosh (VAT+£12) before I make the purchase?
Or is there any other alternative website which will not charge for sure (with similar price)?

I'm not aware of any. DHL seem to be good at not charging VAT& Admin fee.
FedEx has hit me every time.

Best option would be to find a European provider which would help overcome that.

Apologies I couldn't be of more help
Shouldn't be Customs Duty as less than £135. Shouldn't be handling charge as it says Free delivery.
Probably should (might) pay VAT at 20% - so total of £130ish. Still a bargain. Happy to be corrected...
If there is a customs fee (even 10p), there will be a handling fee, even if that makes it 20 times the item value! Had that arguement with parcelforce - they even claimed that the handling fee is set & applied by customs!

Problem is that you can't be sure if it will come in RM or PF (I think PF is £13 where RM is £8). Many sellers will mark the item as lower value, gift or even returned repaired item - good luck if you get caught involved in that!

Getting this for my Dad's Christmas. Will be a massive upgrade for him.
Those considering this should be aware that it has a 720p display- would look c**p on such a big screen. Surprised they are still making 720p panels
I didn't know this had a 128GB version. Very good price! Have your fire!

I'm coming round to the screen potentially not being bid deal, if I didn't already have a Note 8T on the way...

So I guess that probably puts the price up another few quid if there's a handling charge to collect the VAT.

Even so, £140ish seems a good price (it's still about £165 on Amazon).
Allow that you might pay £30-35 & be chuffed ifyou don't. : )

One person may pay 0 in 10 times, while another may pay 8 in 10. Equally the 0 in 10 could become 10 in 20 though - it is partly luck, partly pattern - there was a rumour last year that customs were hitting every parcel from one retailer (GB or BG I think). If the seller under values it (again I don't recommend this, merely saying what I hear happens), you may pay closer to £15 (inc fee).

I agree 40" plus needs to be 8K minimum...

...oh, but hang on this is a 6" phone!

720P is fine for most. I would wager that playing the same 1080P video source on a phone or sub 13" laptop at normal distances, you would struggle to be certain which was 720/1080P.
This or the Samsung A50 for 155?? Grade A condition.
