Don't buy if you aren't prepared to pay a possible customs charge, pay with credit card, expect long waits sometimes, but decent service in general from aliexpress, check the returns procedure in advance as well, and there is little to no warranty with grey imports.

Um... Xiaomi is one of the best at optimisations, battery life and performance are basically flawless.

My 25 day on one charge smart watch would disagree with you. Having never really heard of this brand until 12 months ago I'm a big fan now. These points are major bargains in my opinion

Its more about protecting potential buyers from the pitfalls of Aliexpress, if they aren't confident in buying from these places
Totally agree, have a good weekend.

Optimisation, what optimisation? Xiaomi is live and kicking in the EU including us where quality IS important.
Hey @MrSwitch - I'm currently looking for an Xiaomi phone as a replacement for my iphone 6s around the £150 mark but there is so much choice. My top choices at the moment are the Redmi Note 7 and 8 which are both around this price on Amazon. Which Xiaomi phone would you recommend around this price range? Cheers

I'd go with the 8t from amazon, mi world sell it for £150, comes with 2 year warranty as well.

Or these so called people of neighbouring countries have realised you can get a quality phone at a decent price like most of on HDUK .
I'm a big Xiaomi fan but I don't get this model, Redmi 8 or 8T can be had for 15-25 quid more occasionally only 10quid more and has way better processor and camera.
Is this just a humongous battery that appeals?

got one of these last month, doesn't seem to be picking up 5Ghz WIFI. Other than that works super, very long battery life, 2-3 days in fact sometimes

Yeah basically, plus coupled with that very efficient prcosesoor, it will last 413 days, at a guess

True. Also look on Amazon and see more than a million Chinese variants all claiming blockbuster specs.....Xiaomi, Huawei, Teclast, Xomi etc..... Personally I wouldn't consider buying a Chinese home brand phone. Especially with the Huawei vs US issue...most Chinese phones claim OTT specs yet deliver mediocre performance, buggy SW and sometimes unreliable HW.

I'm waiting for delivery of my second Xiaomi, my first was a note 5 and I was very impressed but the camera wasn't as good as my Lumia 950 in bad light.I would have kept the 950 if WP10 hadn't pulled the plug.

Also worth noting it is a bank holiday in China for the new year so a possible 14 days extra on delivery times.
